Hi everyone!

I would like to ask you about "Documentary Proof of Having Met in Person in the Past Two Years and an Ongoing Relationship"

I do have so many pictures of me and my fiance and now I don't know how many pictures do I need to send them..

Could you give me some ideas?

Thank you.

This is what we sent for proof of having met in person during the past 2 years:

Copy of Brazilian visas from passport

Copy of stamped entries into Brazil

Copy of teaching certificate from Brazil

Copy of both sides of Brazilian residency card with translation

Copy of Flight Coupons and the itinerary from last trip

Receipt from hotel and business card with translation

Pictures (6) from 2004 to 2006

This is more important that the proof of ongoing relationship because you'll take that to the interview at the consulate. However, we did send some just in case....phone bills, used calling cards, 5 e-mails, a letter of affidavit from a friend, envelopes from letters we'd sent to each other....

I think it's better to send a bit of everything (i.e. only 6 pictures and 5 e-mails).

11/2004 - Met in Brazil

09/2006 - Apply for K1

03/2007 - K1 approved

04/2007 - Apply for AOS & EAD

07/2007 - EAD approved

01/2008 - Conditional Residency approved

11/2009 - Apply to remove conditions

02/2010 - Permanent Residency approved

11/2010 - Apply for Citizenship

03/2011 - Citizenship approved

07/2011 - Moved back to Brazil

At the petition filing stage, only the evidence of meeting in person within the past two years is required. Pictures are secondary evidence. Primary evidence would be things like passport stamps and boarding passes. Hotel receipts or ATM receipts in country are also primary. Including a few pictures is good too. Unless you have red flags to address, just save the ongoing relationship for the interview stage.

I sent as much information as i could sent.... i sent about 64 pictures, copies of passport and airline tickets, copies of letter and emails we wrote to each other, records of phone call history. This way i covered all my bases and was able to prove both that we had met in the last two years and that we had an ongoing relationship....

By sending as much information now you also facilitate the interview process for your fiancee because you give them as much evidence as possible. The only downside to this is that it means you have to make sure that all dates and pictures and all evidence coincides with the story you are giving them which it should if you are being honest from the beginning.

Si, man -- no need to SWAMP the USCIS people, but include enough so that when the consulate receives your package, the consulate cannot ignore your "validity" of relationship.

You can leave out everything of this nature from your I-129F filing, but there is no guarantee that your consulate will even allow you to present "validity of relationship" when your fiance(e) shows up for the interview.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Well said TBoneTX..... if you send the information you are guaranteeing that someone will at least have it.... if your fiancee takes it to their interview, the interviewer may be having a bad day and decide not to even look at any further evidence.... give it to them now! Your fiancee may hate you for having suck a big package to carry around... but they'll thank you in the end... :innocent::whistle::thumbs:

Quite true. I'd include some pictures, but not a lot. When my fiance interviewed in Rio, they never asked for proof of relationship. I had included a variety of proof with my I-129F submission. IMHO, it is wise to include proof with the initial petition.

Well, if you receive an RFE, it could prove to be a blessing in disguise. You can then send such things as a log of your e-mails (date & subject), copies of phone bills, and the like. Did you save your boarding passes and luggage receipts from your visits? If you didn't, copies of every page of your passport can suffice. Wait to see what happens, but have an eye toward having these items available.

When we filed the I-129f I put in all our phone records (landline and cell) from 2004 to 2007 and then all of our flight itineraries of everytime we met, and then the engagement ring receipt. Then for photos I color copied about 15 pictures total dating from when we met to when we last saw each other. I had more primary evidence than photo evidence. hope that helps!

We are sending copies of passport stamps, boarding passes, flight itinieraries etc. We are also including copies of receipts for purchases made in the USA and Scotland along with the corresponding bank statements which have the purchases highlighted. I also made a cash withdrawal from an ATM while I was in the USA and sent them a copy of the receipt from that too.

The pics we're sending have us posed at easily identifiable landmarks such as Sears Tower, Wrigley Field, Field of Dreams etc. I'm just hoping that will be enough!

Good luck to you on your journey ...

Send in copies of passport stamps, copies of boarding passes and itineraries and copy any receipts for purchases you may have made in each other's countries. Regarding pictures, 3 - 5 will be more than adequate. In fact, I know of more than a few people who had petitions approved with no photo evidence whatsoever.
