Hi Jim. Welcome to the August 08 Filers group. We're all a bunch of mental patients here now due to no action from VSC. Hope you don't get this far to be where we are. :)

I hope so to and I admire everyone's patience on here because it is hard holding down a long term relationship! We've been together since 03/04 and time has flown by but since we started this visa process (because we decided it was the right time), time is really dragging slowly and not helped by the small amount of approvals coming out of Vermont. Does sadden me to see less than half of the August petitions have been approved at Vermont, currently reading 94 out of 200 on visajourney. (47%)

K1 Visa Timeline
15th Dec 08 - I129F posted to VSC
1st June 09 - Interview at 9am, Medical at 2:50pm
15th June 09 - K1 Visa approved and received
23rd June 09 - Point of Entry (Atlanta, Georgia)
17th July 09 - Married

AOS + EAD + AP Timeline
25th Aug 09 - AOS + EAD + AP posted to Chicago Lockbox
2nd Oct 09 - EAD + AP Approved
22nd Oct 09 - AOS Approved
30th Oct 09 - Green Card in hand!

Removing Conditions Timeline
29th Sept 11 - I-751 posted to VSC
26th Sept 12 - Approved

Citizenship Timeline

20th Feb 15 - N-400 posted to Lewisville Lockbox

15th June 15 - Interview

1st July 15 - Oath Ceremony

Thanks for the info, Maliciant, very helpful; but a few things for (UK) people to know from your post:

- The medical in the UK takes only an hour or so. No need for 2 days.

- You can't spot HPV as it's a virus that a lot of women already have.. it CAN lead to visible signs given the right circumstances such as warts, but the genital check is simply to make sure you have the right 'equipment'.

- UK medical requires chest X-ray too.

- You're not required to take a pregnancy test in the UK unless you're unsure when your last period was. You may have to take one then, before vaccinations are given. (But usually you've already had the required vaccinations as you can get them for free on the NHS)

- Maliciant is right, you'll be denied for drug usage, period / full-stop. :)

We'll get there... It's not the end of the world though. If this gets any worse, I can always go to KY... Or he can come here... We could cancel the K1, get married and to hell with it... We'd go build our own island somewhere else where there is no economic crunch. We'll plant sweet potatoes, have coconut juice and have a perfect tan... *big dumb grin*

I LOVE THIS ATTITUDE!

This is exactly why and how I kept strong through my journey is because of this type of mentality.

I love USICS....

Chris took off work early yesterday to head down for a 3pm appointment at the DC office and then I never heard from him, I got this email this morning from him:

"I left the office to go downtown to see the folks at USCIS. I got there and the security folks were closing the door at 2:45. I had my little apointment number and they said they were shutting up the building "for adminsitrative reasons" . At this point I had gotten a little hot around the collar. Made some rather rude comments etc and kept pointing out that I had an appointment. More security guards showed up and they threatened to charge me with interfering with a federal employee and disturbing the peace."

He got home and had no power and no charged cell phone so I never got to hear from him till this morning, I am so incrediably pissed off at the whole process right now!!!!!!!
