I hit 40 last year and Lara's 40th was this year. We both feel young in certain ways.

We feel young and don't look our age. People in there 40's are in there prime. I can't wait to spend all my time with Lara, we want to do so much with life.

We ain't too old for bars and disco's yet.

I love my 40's so far...hated most of my 30's....I think it depends on where you are in life

I hear ya cookie! My 40's have so far been the most incredible. I've grown more as a person in the last five years than ever. Yeah, it does depend on where you are in life. When I compare my life now to what it was like 10 -15 years ago...THESE are the best days so far...and if anyone could have walked in my shoes then, you'd know why. :)

20's sucked

30's were the BEST

Now 42 and pretty dang happy.

It seems it gets better as I go, not worse.....

Not the boundaries drawn on maps,

With the names of powerful men.

That's all I've wanted -

To walk in such a place with you,

On an earth without maps."

I guess the reason I'm loving my 40's so much is because of being in a happy marriage. THAT can make all the difference in the world, whatever your age.

My 20s were better than my teens; my 30s were better than my 20s; my 40s were better than my 30s, and now in my 50s while there are things that are different and challenges I hadn't expected, I wouldn't change my age for any of my younger years - my body, yeah! Sure wish I had the one I had in my 30s now but with the mind, knowledge and self- awareness/confidence of the me in my 50s. I am fully 'me' now, something that looking back I can see I was still in the process of becoming in each of those decades. It is lovely to have 'arrived'! Each decade seems better than the one that precedes it.

Happy 40th those of you are who are turning or have just turned 40. Those who are still in your 20s and 30s, well, trust me - the best is yet to come - you'll just have to wait a little bit longer to find that out!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
