They want to get the certified copy of it. You would want to go to the county registrar or department of health in your state. I am not sure but you can get more info at http://www.sos.nh.gov/vitalrecords/ELIGIBILITY.html

Send in a photo copy, but if you have an interview take the certified copy. Thats what we did and it was fine.

In submitting application, photocopy is OK....but for an interview, an original certified copy must be shown.

Photocopies are fine but it must be a copy of the proper document. If you received a "certificate" to commemorate your marriage, copying that won't do. What you copy is the certified copy you get from the County Clerk, AFTER the marriage is duly recorded.

You're getting all kinds of answers that address whether a copy is good and none of them address the document to be copied. The devil is in the details.
