POE Review: CDN-USA Border
Event Description
Entry Date : 2008-05-23
Embassy Review : I entered at the Buffalo (Lewiston, Queenston), New York POE. The officer at the booth took my passport and I was told to park my car under the overhang and bring my envelope packet inside with me. The officer directing vehicles at the overhang did not do more than tell me where to park and point me in the right direction of where I was supposed to go. Inside, I waited until my name got called. The officer that called me up to process my K-1 Visa was surprisingly really nice and congratulated me on the upcoming wedding. He asked me a few questions about where I'm staying etc. and then I paid him the $6 processing fee. I had no problems with him at all. Then I had to go over to the other side near the entrance to give them paperwork for my importing my car. It took about 5 minutaes of me waiting in front of 10 officers to get someone's attention. A lady officer didn't really know what to do exactly and said she just got in, had 4 hours of sleep because of a 20 hour day the day before. She signed a form I filled out and then sent me on my way to my car. The officer at the overhang told me to have a good day and off I was, another 7 hours to New Hampshire!
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
