CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE!!!

But I need some help...

I finally received Packet 3 (YAY!!) in a small envelope containing so many forms... I'm confused, do I sign the affidavit of support or not? I don't have any kids to bring with me or anything... RARR we're just sooooo close!! >_<

- Perlin

Hi Perlin,

You have to read the instructions very carefully. The exact directions should be in there. I am the USC but from what I understand from my fiance's packet he had to fill out a financial form too, as well as me. In our case in Spain, they want to know what financials he has. We had questions also but we called the embassy and they were VERY helpful. :yes:I don't know about your embassy but is it something you could try? Most of all, take a deep breath :star: it will be ok! it seems like a lot but just go through it STEP by STEP.

I wish you the best! Good luck to you! and always feel free to ask here, even about little things! everyone is always so helpful on VJ :luv:

I've tried asking them questions before, but all I get is one word answers, usually "Yes" or "No". Not very helpful at all. It's kinda sad, really. :(

Maybe I should try again. I read the instructions, but how do I prove I will not be a public charge? I don't think I need to fill out the affidavit of support because seriously, I have NO ONE to support aside from myself. Or does my fiance fill one up instead?

I didn't mean that you have to fill out an I-134 for yourself, definately the USC fills out the I-134, but I only meant maybe you show the embassy your financial situation, if you have any savings, assets, etc, and your income earning potential (ie, your work history) And in our case, they wanted to know that Marcos has some place to go, that someone is going to be taking care of him when he gets here. I am NOT saying the financial information about you decides whether you get a visa. I was just trying to help you with your confusion about all the paperwork. If you fiance meets the poverty guidelines and is going to fill out the I 134 form, and it's only you and him he has to support, I really wouldn't worry about the public charge issue.

About calling the embassy, I think, maybe, they can't volunteer information, that's why they answer yes or no, because that was the way it was when we called to, they didn't answer any question but the one he was directly asking. I would say KEEP ASKING questions to them though.

Hope this helps. ;)

Hi Perlin,

As it happens, we are using the same consulate... Singapore. We received Packet 3 just 2 days before you did! In the packet were the forms and 3 pages of instructions. Yes... I know.. they are not all clear. However, I have personally emailed the consulate 3 times now with multiple questions. The first time they responded in 17 minutes. The longest time was about 33 minutes! The consulate is impossible to talk to, but their email is terrific! Include the case number in the Subject line of the email and your name, address, phone, etc at the end.

I am sure our questions are different, but....

The part that says DO THIS FIRST: fill out and return to embassy immediately.

The part that says SECOND.. and all that follow.. you gather and then send the signed list back to them. You will take these later.

In most cases, the USC will be filling out the I-134 Affidavit of Support (unless you are self sponsoring) .... and... they send you an OLD version. We asked and it is acceptable to download the latest I-134 from the USCIS and send that. That way you don't have to send the included I-134 all the way to the US and back.

I hope this helps and good luck!

WELL HERE WE SIT AT 152 DAYS NOW AND ONLY 3 TOUCHS THIS MONTH AND STILL NO NOA2.IM ABOUT READY TO START SCREAMING TO ATTORNEY AND NOTIFY MY CONGRESSMAN.THIS IS RIDICULUS.ESPECIALLY SEEING MAY FILERS ALREADY GETTTING THERE NOA2S.IM A CROSS BETWEEN APRIL(FILED APRIL 30) AND MAY(NOA1 MAY 1)FILER SO WHERES OUR NOA2?????????YOU SHOULD SEE THE STEAM COMING OUTTA MY EARS AT THIS MOMENT

Same here. We The United Slaves of America. What can u do, but wait and pray? Congressman won't do u no good either. I requested them to help me look into my case. It took them month and a half to finally stop Bsing me and give the case to an officer. I left a message to the congressmen case officer and she replied to me after a week (so nice of her) saying that it is very hard for her to help me with anything but she will still try. Then she said the Uscis has to tell me within two to seven days what is going on with the case. This is the second week and I have not heard from her. When I told her may and june applicants are getting approved at this time as far as I know. She simply told me I have the wrong information they r still working on february cases. Plus don't waste ur money on attorney they will start giving u ####### answers as wel and that will piss u off even more. Seems like everyone sitting around is just trying to suck on our blood. Taking every single penny our of our pockets for nothing.

GRRRRR!!!!!!!!

I am waiting too - from April 23rd!!!! This si horrible!!! I feel like my file is stuck behind a desk somewhere o r in the trash!!!!

I'm right there with you! April 23rd here, this totally sucks. I can't understand it.

OMG! I'm so sorry that you both are still in that sucky NOA2 waiting tunnel. Right now all you guys can do is just wait for the approval. Like my case I didn't even know my case was approved til we got the hard copy in the mail. Maybe you guys have approved but they didn't update the status so please check your mail box maybe it will surprise you. Praying for you guys and hope you two can give us some good news soon.

Cheers,

Glo

Thanks for your wishes GloAndcole. Keep us in your prayers. Piles and piles of crappy laws are being forced to make our lives miserable.

Hey guys!!!!

Everything went well on the interview!!!

Actually, almost everything... my fiancé sent me his W2 instead of the federal tax inco1040me, so he'll have to email it to the embassy so they can issue the visa (right now I have a denial paper in my hands, with the 221(g) number, which is so scary to look at), but the consul told me that it was alright and they'll issue the visa as soon as they get his email with the missing documentation. So yea, I'd be mad at my fiancé if I wasn't so happy right now!!

Thanks to all of you guys for the tips and support, and I'll post again after we work out this documentation problem!
