Good morning everyone

me and my fiancee have many pictures together (professional pictures we took them at studio and we were wearing official clothes ) in our engagement day plus we have many pictures at my home with my father,mother,aunts,cousins,.....and we took them in our engagement day to .

i have been reading about that kinda pictures and i found out that some people got problems cause of those pictures. cause people at the USA embassy thoughts that they are married not just engaged .

i want to know if anyone who had his interview at the USA embassy in Cairo got that kinda problem. or it was ok to show them some of the engagement pictures .

any advice will be appreciated .

have a nice blessed Sunday everyone.

Nothing's impossible . Nothing's unreachable .When I am weary you make me stronger

This love is beautiful .So unforgettable . I feel no winter cold when we are together .

Will you stand by me ?!!!Hold on and never let me go .

Will you stand by me?!! With you i know i belong . When the story gets told .

When day turns into night .I look into your eyes . I see my future now .All the world and its wonder

This love wont fade away. And through the hardest days . I will never question us .You are the reason my only reason.

I'm blessed to find what i need in a world loosing hope. you are my only believe .

You make things right every time after time.....

Will you stand by me ?!!!

I love you so much and i miss you so much more .

It's up to you whether or not you want to present these to the embassy, although I don't understand why anyone with common sense would EVER feel the need to present these.

What is the point? Why jeapordize your entire visa process just to show a few more pics? I think it's absolutely ridiculous as to why anyone would want to present these, especially when they know that presenting these could lead to problems, and more than likely a DENIED K-1 Visa.

If I were you, I wouldn't EVER show these. There's absolutely no point, and the only thing that could come out of showing them would be a negative response and a negative outcome.

Save them for when you're both in the US, just my opinion.

Sorry realize my response sounds kind of negative-toned, however I just don't see the need or why anyone would have the desire to show these and risk throwing the entire visa process they have been through out the window.

well my point is these kinda pictures can improve our case at the usa embassy and show them that we have a serious relationship . i don't think its ridiculous at all to show people your engagement pictures if you are engaged .

i think if you duck and hide and if you don't show them that kinda pictures this is the ridiculous thing.

anyway thank you so much for your advice i really appreciate it .

from my understanding if you are engaged to someone i think you supposed to have many pictures together and many pictures with your fiance(e)'s family . and you supposed to have engagement rings .

i think that sounds so normal in any country . but the ridiculous is if you don't have that .

so whats wrong if you show people at USCIS or at the USA embassy those pictures i really have no clue why they might deny us of think we are married if we show them that kinda pictures ???? the pride must wear white dress in the wedding . but she wear another color in the engagement .so if my fiancee was wearing another color not white dress isn't that enough to show them its not wedding pictures and we are not married?????

Hi Tenderheart,

I think what littleasianman was trying to tell you was if you show pictures of your engagement party that may cause some uproar with the consulate and he may very well deny you a K1 visa due to the fact that 1) you are not supposed to be married entering into a K1 and thus the consulate will strike it as fraud and 2) engagement party photos look almost identical to a civil wedding ceremony and the bride doesn't have to be wearing a white dress either. If you do take those pics in with you to the interview be prepared to be scrutinised on it. You don't want to give the consulate cause to speculate or wonder that you may be married its just not worth the risk...do the math. I would not take the engagement party photos if I were you. Just my opinion but the best of luck in whatever you decide to do

I don't know what you mean by "official clothes" but I wouldn't show any pictures anybody might possibly interpret as "wedding" pictures. When it comes to evidence of a bona fide relationship the Consular officers are not nearly as concerned with formalities of engagement as they are with seeing there is an ongoing relationship. The kind of pictures that show that are the more casual ones in multiple locations and with family members. Engagement parties and rings are formalities that are not required and prove nothing.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

This is were Casa differs from what others will know. they do expect to see engagement party and pictures.......you just have to make things very sure that they are only ENGAGEMENT pictures and have them understand this, talk about future weding plans, outline plans for FUTURE marriage and make them understand. Have a list of people that attended the ENGAGEMENT party etc maybe include letters from few that attended....

also for casa which others wont do is you have to have the original application show everything you want them to know because they are bad to NOT look at your evidences at interview. So be sure to include alllllll you can in application, it has to be very complete. It is also good to have your SO state rep send a email righ before interview to show they have concern for this case. Casa is like no other but these are the steps that have worked for others, it has to be complete....

unfortunately there is no real way that anyone can provide proof of it being just an engagement party unless the consultate were to attend the engagement and swear that what he witnessed was infact an engagement, and we all know that hell might freeze over before that happens. I think the critical point to consider is this - K1 is not a visa requiring an engagement whereas K3 is a visa requiring marriage. A K1 generally is faster than K3 and the consulate examiner is trying to avoid any attempted fraud by parties who are married and trying to get a K1 (trying to shortcut their separation).

The culture in many countries is such that an unmarried girl is not allowed to be with a man - India and many Muslim countries are like that. Its considered a social insult for an unmarried girl to go be with a man (even her husband to be). As a result of this, many Indian parents would insist on a marriage before letting their daughter go (yes, a few are more liberated now, but not many), and thus in India its probably very common to see this kind of fraud occurring. And that's why if an 'engagement' picture seems to be a 'marriage' picture - you could be denied a K1 visa.

You are going through Egypt, I do not know what the fraud potential is in Egypt but I guess it may be high. So, do what you feel is comfortable for you but be prepared for a denial or delay if you do take a chance with such an evidence which may turn against you. Good Luck

Honestly, just provide normal pictures of you both. Pictures of you together with family.

Just general pictures will work just fine. No reason to go "official" for the proof. You may be trying to go a little overboard.

morning mohamed. how are you. no it isnot problem at all i had this type of pictures and had no problems best luck

Hey,

To the OP, you mentioned that this will only HELP your evidence, but the truth is, it won't. It can only hurt it.

I'm going to keep this post short, as you don't seem to understand that these pictures will not help. And like posted above numerous times, there's now ay to prove these are an "engagement party" and not a wedding ceremony, so why even risk anything.

No it's not a matter of ducking and hiding if you have these pictures, it's a matter of being smart and minimizing your risk. If you KNOW (because everyone on here has told you so, with the exception of mohamed n melinda) that providing these pictures is a great risk, then why do it?

I would just provide all the other proof, as that will be sufficient depending on how many other non-engagment party pics you have, and even if you have a few, that's better than having your ceremony pics.

And to mohamed n melinda, just because YOU personally had no problem with your engagement pics doensn't mean no one else will, as I have heard of about five times as many people having problems with engagement pics than not having problems.

Once again, it's definitely up to you, and good luck OP.

ok well i do understand all of your points .

but i think once the engagement pictures could give us problems . so why the heck we have to take them ?????? why we have to make engagement party if they will think its wedding ceremony .

and then maybe we have to take our rings off at the interview cause they might think its wedding rings .so they might think we are married .

heck it does not make any sense .

they have to know if we are married we would file for k3 or CR! visa not K1 .

anyway thank you all so much i really appreciate your advice guys .
