Hi all. Hope all is well in visajourney land.

I just called the everso frustrating national call center. I submitted an AOS in September 2005 (it was received in Spetember 2005) and I got the receipt letter etc. But since then I have not heard a peep. It is well past the 120-180 days they indicated it would take.

The person I spoke to said they were 7 months - SEVEN MONTHS - behind. Are they for real? I mean, what!?

Has anyone else been waiting ages for AOS? Has anyone else been told about this delay?

Thanks.

Tim (UK) Witney (USA).

I can only hope mine takes as little as 7 months - Charleston's average time for dealing with AOS is 526 days...it sucks! If they deal with mine in anything less than 2 years I'll be happy. I still have hope they may transfer it to another service center but I won't hold my breath.

If you get it done in 7 months you'll be doing extremely well. I think it is more likely to be over a year.

Our journey started in 2001 and it's still not over. It's been a rollercoaster ride all the way! Let me off - I wanna be sick!

If you get your AOS in 7 months good luck to you. My husband and I filed around 16 months ago and our date is way past where Atlanta timelines are posted. I am wondering if I will have my AOS by our 3rd wedding anniversary now.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the information. Great.

I was expecting it to take a loing while. I was just concerned that there was a seven months delay... but this is normal by all accounts. I am in no great need for it as I have EAD and AP. Just keep waiting.

One further question though, if anyone can help.

I mailed my AOS to Chicago post box, as instructed. Will my application be sent to the local office dealing with this geographical area - Charllestone I assume?

Thanks

timmy:

You should go by the average time at your service center. We went throguh Denver and when I did the research - it seemed they were doing the interview in 4 to 6 months - and we were done in just under 4 months. So we fell into the average processing times. Maybe yours is averaging much longer. Good Luck

.... sorry, I am a little confused. How do you know which service centre your AOS will get sent to? Since all applications 9well, virtually all) now go to chicagoo, how do they decide where to send. Is it geographic again?

Yeah, it's geographic. You did your biometrics in charlotte?

There are two offices in SC - Charleston, which I can tell you is processing applications received feb. 2005. And Greer, SC - which is doing a bit better and processing from June 2005.

Cool; thanks everyone.

Canadalaura, you are correct. Our local service centers are Charlestone and Greer.

I wonder how they decide where to send between the two.
