Ameen.

Absolutely, i agree.

Maybe i didn't express myself clearly in my original post. My Habib is still overseas....

i'm just worried that his life will be harder here, than there.... that is what i'm concerned and ruminating about...

None of us know what the future holds for us. Kez came here to the US as we thought it would be best given that I have a disability and she wanted me to remain in the place where I had good support and care, little did we know that just 3 short years later my beautiful and loving Kez would be taken from me. do I regret that we did not move to Scotland? no not for one second. I have 3 years of wonderful memories and have come to see that everyday things mean nothing, I would give up everything I have and move to any part of the world to have Kez back for just one day.

Cherrish what you have now because that is the most special thing that life can ever give you.

If Mags and I ever have a disagreement about something, I just think about how I'd feel if she weren't here with me any longer.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

I also think that the economy is not doing as well as previous years but it's not as bad as most countries. The best part is, it will get better so we have brighter days ahead.

Moving here is a very personal decision for every couple but I couldn't have moved to Colombia since getting a job there, let alone a good one, is nearly impossible. It's all about who you know and how much you can pay under the table. My husband is very well educated and after he got laid off he couldn't find work for over a year. Here he has an ok job but makes more than over there, so it was a good decision for us to be here.

Salaam all,

So i'm home today and watching CNN and reading, and the US economy just seems to be getting worse and worse...

i have a lot on my mind with my husband's possible arrival here. i don't make a lot of money, and to hear other's stories, it will be months before he can work. Am i doing him a disservice by asking him to come and live here for (at least) a few years? The economy stinks, the dollar is down, job availability is way down, salaries stagnant, the cost of living skyrocketing.

in Morocco, we lived well... i had a good job, he had an okay job, healthcare is good in the capital...we had a nice apartment...

A year ago, when we decided to apply for this visa, and i asked him to come here, things weren't so bad with the state of the economy in the US. But now, it just seems like a downward spiral.

Am i hurting our possibility for a happy life together by asking him to come here? It's a lot on my mind... Does anyone else have these worries?

Thanks for listening,

hz

The economy may stink to us,but not to someone coming from another country.Don't worry about it.These thoughts used to cross my mind also and my SO would say"The bad economy there is way better than the economy here."

The economy is not in a recession it's in a depression. But that's another thread. I would move here all over again if it meant being with my lovely beautiful amazing wife.

I often worry about Darren's chances of getting a job here, since the job market is stagnant and has been for some while. Professionals are being laid off and the only jobs being created around here is service jobs (mostly in tourism) which are low-paying with no benefits. I make a decent living for one person, but to add him to my insurance would take a small fortune per month (almost $450 per month with a sizable deductable). He's not afraid of taking a less-than-ideal job in the short term until he can find something better, but even those jobs are hard to come by.

At this point in our lives, it's not possible to move to Germany.

I am already established in my career here and P's just finishing graduate school.

Though he would make more money in Germany with the value of the € versus the value of the $, it just doesn't make sense now.

In the future though we fully intend on moving back there at least for a few years.

Just remember that you will be together.
