Hi everyone,

Um I guess the topic title says it all :D

Any ideas on what to look for? Any recommendations?

Any websites you know of besides newegg.com to look for deals?

Thanks a bunch. :star:

www.tigerdirect.com has some pretty good deals. We just got extra RAM for our computers from there and it was a good buying experience.

You can sign up for their email newsletter that gives their latest deals as well. We've pretty much decided that I'll be getting my flatscreen monitor from them when the time comes.

:)

Hey Swirly, did you look at the LCDs that are on their deals pages? I saw a couple for less than $220. There's one by Benq and one by Rosewill. The deals pages are loaded on the front when you go to NewEgg's website. I got my AOpen 19" LCD monitor from their deals page last Nov. If I remember correctly, I paid $204 for mine. It rocks. Actually, NewEgg rocks.

Thanks for the replies everyone!

I noticed tigerdirect when I googled but had never heard of it. Good to hear you had a good experience, cerise

Ephesia, I did see the deals but I figured if I'm paying this much might as well add another $100 and get one by a brand I know of. Never heard of Benq although that does seem like a great deal.

I'm confuzzled now :help:

I won't comment on the Dell stuff x.x

BenQ used to be Acer. The company adopted the name in Dec 2001.

Canadalaura, my hubby and I love NewEgg too. We buy almost all our computer stuff from there. I got a new keyboard from them last Fri. That site is the devil sometimes. :D

Oh my god, I have a dream computer built on that site too! I even saved the configuration and e-mailed it to myself just in case they purge my wishlist. I have a dream video card (and dream speakers) as well, but it ain't gonna happen this year, especially because I upgraded my computer only 6 months ago. And I don't think my hubby will allow me to edge past him in the race to ultimate geekdom. We're both gamers.:D

The ins and outs on LCD monitors which may or may not justify their cost generally have to do with speed and color accuracy. Geometry can vary widely as well.

www.tomshardware.com compares LCD monitors quite frequently accross all price points.

i use tiger direct on a few items...

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Cool, thanks again.

I figured I'd have some fellow geeks and gamers reply on here. :P Just kidding.

I'm slowly building my dream computer but ya know, it'll be outdated in less than a year hehe.

Anyhow, anyone know of a nice keyboard with palm rest? :innocent:

Newegg really IS the devil. I'm about to spend over $500. :help:

Thanks for that link, cmartyn!
