Big A, Your friend Joyce would probably have a fit unless it was a nice polyester creation

Well, probably not a fit; she's pretty even tempered. But she would definitely suggest something like this:

K-1

March 7, 2005: I-129F NOA1

September 20, 2005: K-1 Interview in London. Visa received shortly thereafter.

AOS

December 30, 2005: I-485 received by USCIS

May 5, 2006: Interview at Phoenix district office. Approval pending FBI background check clearance. AOS finally approved almost two years later: February 14, 2008.

Received 10-year green card February 28, 2008

I don't see what the problem is here.

If he has a suit that is custom-made that he has never worn, but was tailored to him several years ago (and still fits well), so what? If he's never worn it, it's as good as new and since it's designed for him, it'll look much better than a suit that's off-the-rack. Asking (or forcing) him to purchase a new suit, which will probably require some alterations anyway, is simply a waste of money. There's no purpose in it.

I agree. If it's not unfashionable...and let's face it, a really well made suit doesn't go out of fashion, it fits him perfectly and he looks fab, I think he should wear that suit. Maybe accessories like his tie or a pocket square to match wedding colors would make you feel like it's more wedding appropriate???

Hubster wore a suit he'd worn before and we just got him a vest, tie and pocket square in the wedding colors. He looked perfect!

It is his day as well......let him wear something he is comfortable with and wants to wear.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

He should have never told you it's old. He's an idiot. He deserves to lose money on a new suit. Make him pay.

total agreement.. i told sanita, that a few of my shirts were a couple of years old..and my suits were too..they were packed off to goodwill...

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I kind of hate to admit it, but I guess I'd have been a lot happier if he had never told me...

Thank you guys for all of your replies. I guess I get the point. Yep,it's also his day and I don't want to ruin it over more or less meaningless things. He seems to think that he'll look like Mr USA in that suit...(and he better should, under the given circumstance B) ) . I was so upset about it that I said to him that I'd rather see him in neon green bermuda shorts and white tennis shoes at the ceremony, rather than in that old suit. (He happily agreed to that, BTW).

But,ok, I guess I get the point....thanks again!

At our wedding my husband had a rented suit, so it definitely was not new :) He looked the best I've ever seen him though :)
