Just tell your boss 'yeah, i'm lying...I'm actually choosing to live apart from my husband'

DUMBASS!

Well see, that's just it...we're going through the adjustment of status process...we've already gone through the separation. So it's not like I need time off to go visit Aidan or anything, in fact, I don't need anything at all! We did this all by ourselves, we finally sent away his AOS documents...we're almost done. I don't complain about it, I don't ask for things...I just answered his questions, ya know? My husband's pretty upset too, he's more angry though, I just feel bad. :(

Christ, people really make me so angry sometimes. I cannot imagine how difficult it is for people who are going through the process of a marriage based visa. I am so sorry that your employer has made you so upset.

That person who filled your boss full on misinformation either has his/her wires crossed or is an imbecile. Or maybe both. I wouldn't mind smacking him (the friend) around for you without even asking my usual fee of a pound of chocolate (I have major PMS right now). Your boss should be ashamed of himself for upsetting you. Is it possible he was just trying, in some clumsy way, to reasure you and say that it isn't as bad as well all know that it is, and just got his words out all twisted. I know a few people who are like that. I usually wind up banging my head against a wall. I hope that you feel better and that you boss feels like a moron. Maybe he should come to this site to gain some real knowledge.

When i was living with roommates back in Ireland... My roommates were a little hard on me telling me that it was an easy process and stuff... they never been through the process.

I got into this argument because one of the girl told me that it wasn t normal that my visa took 6 months to come... I told her I was pretty lucky to have my visa in 6 months for her it was like ... You going through nothing, it s not hard at all ... well she wasn t the one who been living for nearly 23 years without her fiance at her side...

Sounds like the friend is an idiot and has absolutely no actual experience with immigration. It seems pretty easy if you just look at from the aspect of filling out a couple of forms and paying some money but is a horse of a different color once you get to experience it first hand.

Evidently your supervisor's friend talks a good game and he is the 'expert' in your boss's eyes so you probably won't be able to change that until this so-called expert needs some help!

Maybe it is better to be a know-it-all than a know-nothing

LOL. :P

Nah, I'm not gonna bring it up again. I don't have anything to prove, and I don't want it to seem like I'm desperate for him to believe me. But if he asks me again, I'll be ready with more information. I'm just sad that he doubted me in the first place. It hurts when people judge your character.

Tell your boss you have 9,999,999 people here on VJ that would love to send him an email If he was ever interested in becoming educated about immigration. You know how it is though......no matter what you are talking about there are always those people who think they are experts at everything. The guy your boss was talking to was probably one of those. It is aggrivating that he would question your word about it. I think I would say something to him about it if he brings it up again.

This whole situation is why I took the pro-active step of beginning my blog...of writing my representatives...of sending press releases to the media. We have an opportunity to educate people about the pain of the LEGAL process. Despite the negative comments, I have received from others I continue my two girl efforts to educate our legislators, the media and everyone else. The spotlight is on immigration now...it is a responsibility to educate about the real immigration process...one I have accepted. Today alone I have sent my daily updates to my representatives; press releases to ABC, Fox, AP and UPI; and educated my Yahoo group for Bi-racial Parents about the process because like one of them said...

If you are married to him and ya'll have a child doesn't that automatically give him a right to be here???? At least you'd think it would. I'm so sorry you guys have to be apart. I can only imagine how much yuo are hurting.

They have actually been more supportive than this site. Now that they know the truth...they are calling their representatives on our behalf.

If anyone else wishes to take up this fight with me...contact me for ideas of what I have been doing.

You’re boss deserves a good slap for the crime of believing this wannabe “expert” that has what background in immigration law :hehe: ? Probably none in regards to filing an I-129F with the Texas Service Centre that gets transferred to California and then attending a Medical in Edinburgh and after all that an interview in London for a K-1 Visa! Don't forget the hotels, flights, trains, taxis and of course the trip back home to the North of Ireland... All of which takes “money” and a lot of “time”! I’m far, far from an expert myself.. this process wasn’t and isn’t easy.. I only wish it was!

Your boss’ friend is an expert in talking $hite for that crime alone he/she deserves a good stiff kick in the stones for their trouble  .. you’re boss also deserves a good boot in the root for the crime of upsetting you.. which in turn upset me..

There’s a word to describe people like this “expert” where I come from.. a W***er is what they are!... I hate ignorant people! ;)
