Hey guys,

I'm sorry I dropped out for a while - been busy quite a bit, but I have been reading all your posts and wishing best of luck for you all! You really got me through some of the hardest days in my life and I feel a bit guilty for not having posted for a while.

Congratulations to all who can now move on with their lives: work, travel, drive, etc. !

And those who are still waiting - please don't give up - you've come so close! Whenever you're having down time, just look back at what you've already gone through and ask yourself if you would want to do it again. Nooooooo.... if you ask me  The longer you've been going - the closer are!

Hope this lifts your spirit, although I know how hard it is !

K&W-san, are you still in Japan? How's your daddy? How did your interview go? (I think I read through posts carefully, but forgive me if I missed you mentioning this  )

Ella, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Finally you got through that brick wall!!

Steph, we're with you! I can imagine how frustrating it is for you :( I really hope they'll approve you right away once you send in your co-sponsor paperwork!!

Parul - you've got some exciting news!!! Beat us all!! CONGRATULATIONS - that is AWESOME!!! :luv: And congrats on the driver's license!!

SunnyLight - Congratulations! No more USCIS for you for a while B)

English Muffin - how are you? I have no doubt you'll do great! You sound like a very strong person. I hope the move goes well, you must be busy quite a bit at the moment.. Best of luck to you

As for me, things have been going much better ever since my EAD was approved. It took me a couple of weeks to get my SSN and I got a temporary part-time position with my old company as soon as that was in hand. They don't have much work in Chicago at the moment, but offered to carry me through a short period of time. So I started with them on the 4th of August and got a phone call regarding a real job the same day. They scheduled the interview that same day - that went well, on the 11th August I flew down to Texas for a week's training and on the 18th I started here in Chicago office.

The schedule is a bit tough as there's a lot to do, but I'm totally loving it. People in the office think I'm crazy, they keep saying "you don't have to do all the work today" But I know you guys understand how much energy I have after 6 months of doing nothing :)

Meanwhile, I got my learner's permit - that has to be activated now so I can sign up for lessons. The problem is I can't validate it in Illinois as it was issued back home (in Ohio) and we can't make it there on a business day. I found out that I can take written and vision test on a saturday, so we'll do that next time we go home for a weekend.

So that's a bit hectic, but it feels great to be busy after all the waiting.

My AOS was touched yesterday and today - wondering what that means, hoping no RFE and afraid to get my hopes up...

Well, that's my update... Really hoping to read some cheerful news from all of you very very soon !!!

:luv:

Congrats on the job and hopefully your AOS will come soon!!!!

Green Card Arrived: August 10, 2009

Wow, it seems like you guys are on a very similar timeline to us. We haven't received our interview yet, but hopefully soon. I noticed that you didn't list a transfer date before the interview. Did they never notify you of the transfer from Chicago to Detroit? Good luck with everything!

They don't notify for transfers to local offices, just CSC it seems (or perhaps other service centers?)

That's right, I was not notified that my file was transferred to the local office in Detroit. The interview appointment letter was sent from NBC in Missouri, so something tells me that my file might not be in Detroit yet, it will be transferred some time prior to the interview. One more thing: no change in the status of my cases online, so everyone, don't sweat the online cases too much, watch your mail.

Evan, good luck, hope Clara gets her interview letter soon.

Heliosphan,

Did you get an email saying an interview letter scheduled? Is the email notify you your file was transfered to Detroit?

I do not get any email regarding it and even no touch on my I-485.

Thank you,

Renee

It should not take more than a few days, I think your response is routed to the IO that was working on your file and they should update the case online. I'd give it to the end of the month and then resend your RFE again, same copy as before. If then after another 1-2 weeks there is no update, then call them.

I had to sent the I-693 in the envelope from the doctor and my vaccination supplement...should i send just a copy now from de I-693 or i get to go back to the doctor and send in a enevelope like the first time....?

I would definitely try with the doctor first - maybe thye would be willing to give you another copy in a sealed envelope without charge (it would mean some work for them to transcribe the form, but maybe they are nice). If not, I would send a copy of your copy of the medical.

I haven't gotten anything since the EAD, no letters, touches or transfers. Just been paying attention to other people's cases.

No you just have one interview unless for some reason they think you need another.

The interviews are the same whether K1 or not, you just need to show evidence that he didn't intend to adjust status before coming here.

Don't worry.

K&W-san, are you still in Japan? How's your daddy? How did your interview go? (I think I read through posts carefully, but forgive me if I missed you mentioning this  )

Vika-san,

Glad to hear you start working  Congratulations!! :star:

Thank you for asking, my dad is stable now... behaves a little bit strange, though.

I'm still in Japan waiting for the offer... my interview went well, I beat other candidates  But the company merger happened after the interview... HR say all hiring are now on hold :crying: I want to book my air ticket after I get the offer letter, otherwise I want to help my mom. I don't know when the company re-start hiring... sigh

One more story, although I had to use extra energy to get expedited AP, my GC arrived (my husband transferred it to Japan)..... AP is no longer valid. Didn't have chance to use it :bonk:

Good luck on your AOS process, I believe the touches mean you'll get approved soon

Dear All,

My wife had interview for AoS today in Newark, NJ at 10am and guess what WE DID IT  . I was not as organized as I was when submitting docs for i-130, i129f and visa interview. Although I was a bit nervous but I had pretty much all if not extra documentation ready.

I live about 25 mins drive away from Newark. Since it was about 3am at night before I slept cuz I was making sure that we've got everything required, I put several alarms to wake up around 7-7:30 but I woke up at 9am  . We got in minutes and jumped into my car and thanks God we reached there at 9:50am. :P

Security wasn't bad as we had left coins and phones in the car so no time wasted there however the security officers in front of the interview room who check interview letter and photo IDs before letting in the room, were very unfriendly.

The room was full of people it took about 1 hour before our name was called. The lady who interviewed us was very professional. I was a bit nervous but after talking to her, I felt relief. She asked to show passports, EAD card and anything that we have... She asked us few simple questions and after reviewing the papers already on file.

After checking all the papers, she stamped my wife's passport and said my wife will get her Green Card in mail in 2 weeks and that would be a conditional card cuz we are not married for more than 2 years yet. She took EAD card and told us that the stamp would serve as temp GC.

I'm very thankful to all VJers for sharing their experiences on this site which helped me a LOT.
