oh, I know... I remember a very specific moment, lying awake the night after breaking my ankle, feeling all distraught and thinking I'd have to go home, when I just decided that I was NOT going to go home; I was going to stay, and make it all work... I sometimes wonder if that was one of the defining moments of my life ;)

of course, I then had to call my poor suffering mother... which was an adventure in itself, as this all happened in what had until very recently been East Germany, and there weren't any phones

I think I said something like 'I've had a few more problems...' and her 'yeeeeessss...' was very guarded all of a sudden

it sounds like a sitcom!:lol::lol:

Abdul Rahman arrived on February 25th through JFK and received a 90 work stamp in his passport with no problems. We applied for his SSN on March 3rd and are still waiting. Anyone know how long that takes? I am so fliiping happy and just cannot believe he is really here. Wow! What a horrible time we have all had. What obstacles we have overcome and what emotional turmoil. Kudos to everyone for their patience and neverending faith in good things. Congrats to us all!

Both Charry and I are moving so it is double trouble..

I'm finally moving out of the parents house. Although, at one point I was almost going to buy the house from them. That is until I found out how much they are paying in mortgage payments.

I am moving with my entertainment center, complete with home theater system :P. I have a computer and desk, a filing cabinet and a bookcase. There is no point of me taking my twin bed, yes thats all I have

My parents are giving me their old kitchen table that has been collecting dust in the basement, better than nothing. My God mother is giving me a wingback chair that she has never used. One set of grandparents gave me a pillow  and a fleece jacket for Charry. The other set said they bought me some towels, I already have serveral sets.

My sister gave me a bunch of old winter clothes, not really old but she bought them and wore them once for a party or something and never wore them again. They all look nice. But if they are too big or Charry does not like them they will probably go to good will.

3 days after I move Charry is arriving.

We have no living room furnature, other than the entertainment center. We have no bed never mind a bedroom set. I do not plan on getting anything either until she is here so she can help pick them out.

I saw an inflatable bed on sale for $12.99 or something like that. That should be good enough for a few days while we decide.

I'm taking the entire week off after she arrives. We can pick out the furnature we do not have, I can show her the sites around here as well as show her how to get places of importance, although she won't be able to drive for a while. Then there are the things we all know will happen after being apart for 9 months or more. :D

im sure you will, and then you will feel overwhelmed because the interview will be in like two weeks!!

Part of me is hoping it is that quick if not quicker - purely so I don't have weeks and weeks to get too nervous!!!!!

I keep forgetting that you STILL haven't interviewed! You're such a veteran, it doesn't seem possible!

I know - but I thought the same as you when I first came here - I saw those little hearts and couldn't believe that you had only just filed!!! I feel like I *should* be a veteran - I have got so nervous and excited for everyone else who has gone through it all and part of me thinks I have done my bit now - surely I can bribe someone else to be nervous for me?!?! I am sure Debz is pretty bored!! Maybe I'll text her now I have her new US cell number - yay! :D

Oh Jeremy and I are going to be in much the same situation aisde from the fact that we are not going to have any money to buy any furniture for a while!! We have a second hand sofa that someone has given us and I am sure we can make do with sturdy boxes and cheap rugs etc until we can save up for other things :) It is nice to hear about other people starting from scratch as well! Jeremy doesn't even have a place for us to live yet!!

haha, I had to map that; no clue where that was.

Well, even if it's miles from anywhere populated doesn't mean it isn't a nice place to walk, right? Looks like there are huge parks near there so that could be really nice. :) Is that where you and Jeremy are going to be living?

you bet it is!! you will be here soon enough rae, doncha worry ;) best wishes!!

Thanks :D
