One thing I do like about the book is that the language gets progressively darker - there's not really a specific point where you notice the change, but you do notice that it goes from an jaunty little tale about an eleventy-first birthday party to really dark stuff about people being skinned and eyelids cut off.

The first part is so.. I don't even know what you call it. British? O ho, here we have an adventure! We know it is an adventure for we left home WITHOUT SANDWICHES.

yes but im speaking of the original Halloween 1 as being better, not the other dorky ones that followed it.

The reason why it sucked to me was the acting, where the f did they find the actors

The actors were basically from Rob Zombie's core group. Most of them were in both House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects. His mom is actually Rob Zombie's wife. The step-dad played Sherrif Wydell in The Devil's Rejects. Tyler Mane (grown-up Mike) played Sabertooth in X-Men.

and also the guy who played the sheriff ih Halloween 2007, Brad Dourif was the voice of Chucky

I just googled him. WOW. He was Billy Bibbit. I didn't recognize him at all.

Brad Dourif also played Wormtongue in LOTR. Fabulous Brit accent, best in the whole film. Faultless.

Worst film lately? Ghost Rider with Nic Cage. Absolute pile of poo. We only rented it cause there was nothing else we hadn't seen at that time. Whatever you do...don't rent or buy it. Ever.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

It's very "storytime" with tea and biscuits. Reading it as an adult the tone there is a little cloying. I have the same issues with the Narnia stuff too.

I wonder if it occurred to you also that Nicholas Cage really is too old to be in those sort of movies... If you thought Ghost Rider was bad - take a gander at Next.

To be honest, any Nic Cage movie nowadays tends to suck. He is balding, rather ugly and has the charm of a soggy peanut...just my personal opinion, of course. :P

Apart from Raising Arizona, the ONLY film I really enjoyed him in was Con Air. Just cause it was so camp and bloody hilarious (not to mention Steve Buscemi). "Put the bunny back in the box".
