This is a random thing, consider this when you do eventualy get approved, the card should be the 10 year un-conditional type, no conditions to lift.

Many members have been stuck in name-check hell.

A good read about this:

We've been waiting two years.

Come to the namecheck thread! You'll feel more at home there. :)

I've been toying with the idea of starting a "January 2006 filers?" thread but then figured people would think it was a typo.

K-1

March 7, 2005: I-129F NOA1

September 20, 2005: K-1 Interview in London. Visa received shortly thereafter.

AOS

December 30, 2005: I-485 received by USCIS

May 5, 2006: Interview at Phoenix district office. Approval pending FBI background check clearance. AOS finally approved almost two years later: February 14, 2008.

Received 10-year green card February 28, 2008

Thanks AOS...I do tend to get a little tiresome with the "I have been waiting 6mths" threads..............it is comforting to know I am not the only one that there are many many others in the same situation...I am just having one of those "this is really getting ridiculous days" :)

I understand. I have those too every now and then. It's actually my husband who has been waiting. I think I'm more upset about it than he is!

He had his fingerprints retaken about a month ago. We're hopeful but not convinced that this is it. Several old cases have been approved recently, so we'll see!

Wow, guys. I'm so sorry.

It's the banana tree story for me all over again.......whenever I am feeling sorry for myself, someone always reminds me there are people out there who are worse off then I am. Thanks for the dose of humility today!

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

If you haven't recently, go in for an Infopass appointment and see what's happening with your case. Not to freak anyone out, but after a long lull in activity we went in for a check-up and found that they had shipped our file off to storage. There it would have stayed if we had not inquired, which is a very scary thought.

I waited almost 2 years - my AOS was approved 3 weeks prior to our second anniversary and took 22 1/2 months to process. I had my second biometrics in February, 2006 and the AOS was approved in May 2006 - just to give you one time line, at any rate.

Good luck. Keep remembering that the good news is you will get the 10 year card automatically.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
