Who is inside the chicago box?

I have a very stupid question. Who receives the envelopes at the box in chicago? I wanted to make sure that my Aos packet was delivered to the uscis. So I paid priority mail certified with electronic receipt of the signature. I got it signed by Ralph Mercado or Mercedo, but on the address line it is hard to read, but it seems to have the same name Ralph mercado instead of uscis. It was delivered last night , a holiday. I am really worried that it will get lost, although there is nothing i can do now. Was it smart to ask for delivery confirmation? Sorry if my question is stupid. HAs ralph Mercado signed anybody else's?

Thank you. Have a great day!!

If you sent it to the correct Chicago lockbox address then you will be fine.

They have to have people there signing the packages that come in all day long,I am sure your fine.

Thank you, I feel much better now

I'm pretty sure it's Spiderman.

Or Captain Kangaroo.

Depending on which shift they're on.

I had a weird name and my receipt said it was delivered at 00:15... Go figure.

It's a good thing to ask for a receipt in case you have problems, but don't worry, within a few weeks you'll probably receive some NOAs for your applications and then you'll be sure it's at the right place.

The chicago lockbox goes quickly through the applications and sends them to the NSC, so the NOA will be sent from their address and not a chicago address (just so you know).

Don't worry! If you sent it to the Chicago Lockbox address it should be fine!:)

And somehow, that name sounds familiar. We didn't bother getting a signature request... just a delivery confirmation sticker with a tracking number.

How are we supposed to know who the employees are at the Lockbox?

Whoever signs for it signs for it. It's there - so crisis averted.

It's a private contractor hired by USCIS that opens the envelopes, sorts the applications, logs the receipts and deposits the checks, and does very preliminary organization and data-entry. Then the file is routed to the centers where the adjudicators work and put in a warehouse until it's their turn to be adjudicated.
