August 23, 2007 - FINALLY found out about interview on October 17th (!) via email but never received interview letter (Packet 4) in the mail.
September 14, 2007 - Emailed Montreal to notify them that I never received the interview letter in the mail and they said they'd send me another copy.
September 18th, 2007 - Finally received interview letter dated September 14th.
Montreal was backlogged but we are just happy that I finally have an interview date! We were hoping it would be earlier but can't really complain - at least it's not later!
Now onto the next few steps - interview, then wedding (together at least and at last), then AOS!
We started the process in early February 2007 (gathering paperwork) - who knew it could take almost a year for a Canadian/American couple to be able to get married legally?
INTERVIEW OCTOBER 17, 2007 - APPROVED!
October 19, 2007 - VISA IN HAND! |

Very nice folks at the border; they were joking around with us and teasing me that I didn't have to marry THIS man and asked me if I changed my mind yet... |

RFE was for medical that they misplaced - they want me to do it again even though it's not yet a year old! We have contacted our congressman in the hopes that he will be able to help locate it so we don't have to do it again and pay so much money for an mistake that wasn't our fault... sigh! Hopefully we will have good news soon...

Congressman office was helpful. I did not have to do the medical over nor did I get denied. Yay! |

So happy to have AP approved - nice to have some good news after their mess-up with our medical!
***
We used AP once and everything went just fine. It took 45 minutes waiting for them though. But at least they let me back into the U.S.! |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
