My brother-in-law and his wife have/had an AOS interview scheduled for the end of this month. They received a cancellation letter in the mail last week.

I've read many times here that even if you receive a cancellation letter, you should go to your regularly scheduled interview anyway. I would really appreciate feedback from you guys. You've all been so helpful with my own journey.

01/06/2009: Check cashed

01/06/2009: NOA (arrived 01/09/09)

01/23/2009: Biometrics appt letter received

01/31/2009: Biometrics scheduled

05/20/2009: APPROVED

06/23/2009: 10 Year Green Card arrived

GO to the interview!!! Trust ME...we finally had our interview rescheduled for last Aug 1--AFTER we received a denial for not going----easier to just go anyway---the worst taht could happen is that they tell them to go back home.

27 Sept '07-I-765 [#2] filed--14 Nov '07 Biomerics for I-765 [#2]

Take it from me....GO TO THE AOS INTERVIEW DATE ANYWAY!!!!! EVEN IF YOU GET THE SNAIL MAIL NOTICE!!!

August 2009--Permanent Resident Card arrives!!!!

We are Finished with Immigration for 10 years!!!!

Agree completely with maryandatif! :thumbs:

I've heard of bad things that happened (like denial of AOS) when people don't go to a canceled interview. Like she said, worst that can happen is they will reschedule the interview for some other time.

Met in Peru, Engaged, Successful I-129F, K-1 interview and Married

AOS / EAD / AP and Remove Condition

3/06/06 - AOS/EAD/AP process begins

3/31/06 - AOS/EAD/AP package Fed Ex'd to Chicago

4/03/06 - AOS/EAD/AP package signed & received

4/10/06 - NOA1's received for AOS, EAD and AP via U.S. Mail

4/11/06 - All 3 checks cashed / $745.00 poorer but worth every penny

4/27/06 - Receive Biometrics appointment letter scheduled for 5/11/06

5/11/06 - Biometrics completed

6/02/06 - Receive notice that AOS only has been transferred to California to speed things along

6/07/06 - E-mail that AOS received in California

6/13/06 - Welcome letter mailed by California... yeah baby

6/17/06 - Official welcome letter received and card will arrive within 3 weeks

6/19/06 - Card arrived in the mail.......

3/08/07 - Trip back to Peru for 10 days and our Religous Wedding

3/2007 - We're Pregnant

12/19/07 - Sebastien Joshua born 8:29am 7lbs 2oz 19.5"

3/14/08 - I-751 Removing Condition is in the mail

3/20/08 - Checked cashed

3/17/08 - I-751 Package signed and received

3/24/08 - Case moved to Vermont

4/17/08 - Biometrics completed

4/21/08 - Touched...........

6/16/08 - Touched once again........

11/3/08 - Touched again.. this is begining to feel good

I've never heard of anybody being turned away under these circumstances, though I'm sure it has happened. I've heard a lot of horror stories from people who tried to reschedule instead of going to cancelled interview. Senseless, isn't it?

I agree with the others. the worse that can happened is will have to go back another day.

That is so weird but based on the other replies I'd definitely say go, and I'm glad to have read this, just in case we get an interview... and a canceled one! Weird!

March 6, 2007 - I-129F package sent

March 21, 2007 - I-129F NOA2

October 17, 2007 - K1 interview - approved

October 19, 2007 - K1 arrived in mail

October 21, 2007 - US entry

October 23, 2007 - Wedding day

November 27, 2007 - AOS, EAD, AP package sent

December 7, 2007 - Received all 3 NOA's for AOS, AP & EAD

December 10, 2007 - Received letter for biometrics appointment

January 2, 2008 - I-485 transferred to California

January 3, 2008 - Biometrics

January 16, 2008 - RFE for I-485

January 22, 2008 - RFE for I-485 arrived

January 23, 2008 - AP approved

January 25, 2008 - Case status finally updated: AP approved January 23!

January 31, 2008 - EAD card production ordered

February 2, 2008 - AP arrived in mail

February 5, 2008 - Sending a letter/RFE to CSC

February 5, 2008 - EAD card production ordered (again?!)

So please do tell if first, they went to their interview.... and second, if they did go then what happened?!?!?!?

Our interview was scheduled for 02/27 and today we recieved a cancellation notice.

As of now I think that we will still go and see what happens.

05/03/2007 NOA2!!! (2 identical emails from CRIS received 20:00:09 -0400 EDT)

05/10/2007 NVC sends to Frankfurt

05/14/2007 Packet 3 sent from Frankfurt

05/24/2007 Packet 3 sent back to the embassy in Frankfurt
