as far as I know, after the biometrics your file gets transferred to a local office for an interview. the email states "...and is now pending standard processing..." which implies that there is no issue with it. you already have your EAD.

Joe Ithink that it is basically a confirmation from CSC that your physical file ie the hard copy has been received by them after shipment from Chicago. I may be wrong but that is how I read the same message and it also seems a pretty logical suggesstion. As for the response thing, I can see why people wouldn't respond if they were unsure. I have to say that the senior member that replied with the unhelpful and abusive comment, should be censured within VJ as I thought that those that attain such levels were supposed to be 'all helpful', apparently not.

Hang in there Joe its just a waiting game from here on in and as long as you can continue to work there's no real rush...............

Only time I plan on replying to this. I'm not sure if you were referring to flames, but he was just joking based on the tone of the second post in this thread, which could have been seen as insulting since it really was not fair to put down the 19 people who were online for not responding, and his comment was not abusive or meant to be taken that way... :)

It means your file is now in a big box (aka "the queue") at CSC

Really? I got the same thing this morning - so there will be no interview? How much longer can we expect the whole thing to take if this is the case?

Actually, it really varies so no one here can give you a concrete answer. Some take a week or two after transfer, some a couple of months, some 6 months and some are still waiting after a year or two.

Best thing to do is try to relax and just get on with life. :D

Thanks for all the info! Will they still process EAD and AP? I mean I suppose based on current timelines, it is possible to get the GC before AP and EAD is approved?

Soo serious!! I was kidding and I thought I made it apparent!! There can be 100000 views on a post, and if no one knows the answer, their may not be a reply!! Some people post just to post, not caring if they post the correct info, their priority is all about getting the little hearts!!.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Ok everyone stop picking on selly. Selly's heart was in the right place.

Everyone's posts were helpful. Thank you all.

About the touches though, I thought you knew your case was touched by getting an email. I keep getting those emails from USCIS that just says your case was updated but doesn't tell you how. And when I'd check it out, the last date it was updated never changed from Dec. 18. I thought that just meant it had been touched. If not, what is the purpose of those emails?

As for when I was upset, I should have realized people might not have known the answer. But when you post an honest question and nobody replies you feel like people couldn't care less to help you. Thanks to all who answered though.
