Hello,

My case status has not changed since I was sent a RFE May last year. I have since gone for my interview and the message still remained the same.

At that point I realized that I would not be one of the lucky ones to receive an email notification that my case has been approved. After calling the hotline and visiting the Federal Building here in New York to find out the status of my case and I was told NOTHING!!! other than WAIT!!!! The interviewing officer wrote in my passport, approved pending and he signed his name and dated it. My question was pending what?

Frustrated, I tracked down the officer who interviewed me at Garden City and I gave him a call this morning, he asked for my A Number. He said that, he approved me on that day and I should be receiving my card any day from now and apologized for the lack of any kind of update on the internet.

I was surprised that he actually picked up the phone and was very courteous (my wife was worried that I being too assertive and calling him would make him mad) and I forgot to ask him what to do with my EAD which expires next week (Renew or wait for the green card)?

Well at least I know it is approved and since the card and letter will just show up in my mail box one of these days. I just have to wait and see when the USCIS decides to send me my card.

So I guess no more venting for now; at least for another month.

We are in the same situation as you, Niger LA and Krystyna. Our interview was 22 March and so far the only news we got was after three hours at infopass: your case is pending! gee whiz, thanks!

Niger, how did you wind up tracking down your case officer? Is there a driectory? I am not sure of the name of our officer anymore. She wrote it in the passport, so I thought I didn't need to write it down, but when I looked at it the other day, its not too clear.

Hi Brian,

I know your pain, since we are all still waiting for our cards in the mail. The part that annoys me is that my friend had his a month before us and he got his card in about three weeks, and here we are almost six weeks later nothing.

The Interviewing Officer wrote his name in my passport and I thought it would not be a bad idea to try. The renewal date for my EAD comes up next week and I do not want to shell out another $180.00 to them. At least Garden City has a number you can call and press 0 for the operator, then ask for the officer and they will transfer you. No questions asked.

Hopefully this entire ordeal will be over soon. All the best to you and your wife.
