Not needed for a UK Tourist Visa.

Hey -- how did you solve this issue, please? In the same boat now -- applying for a UK visa while ROC. Green card is expired, but I have the extension letter.

Thanks!

Visa approved. I applied for a 2-year visitor visa and sent in copies of GC and extension letters (plus other stuff on employment, finances, ties, etc.). The application process is rather suboptimal and opaque (see these Yelp reviews), but it took about 15 business days once they received my application.

Well, the requirements for the 2-year one are no different than the standard 6-month one, though they'd presumably like to see more travel history (I have traveled there several times) and deeper ties to your country of residence.

Just copies. UKVI explicitly does not require, and I don't recommend, sending original documents (except for your passport).
