Hopefully they check yours soon, it seems like they follow up on RFEs.

I got this "real-time update" on my USCIS APP, in the morning today (I'm in Vietnam right on Android). It's saying a case similar to mine got an RFE. But the date applied of the case is from April 14, 2016. It took 9 months just to get an RFE and they are saying it is similar to mine... ?

I worry because I was honest and said I met my fiancée on Tinder. And the USCIS people are thinking they won't review it for a long time assuming our relationship won't last. Am I being paranoid and thinking about it too much? Why would they leave a small percentage of cases go for months before checking them? I don't believe that they are continually getting miss placed for months.

I know it's only been 92 days but I just keep hoping for any news soon.

Nowrya, I wouldn't worry at all about meeting through Tinder. There are plenty of couples who met on the various Internet sites. We met on dating site as well, and got RFE because of that (sent back their TOS and explanation why that site is exempt from IMBRA). It is rather normal nowadays to meet through the Internet :)

I am completely clueless about how USCIS proceeds petitions but I guess they check backgrounds thoroughly. I blame our past life experience for the delay. The more experience the more stuff to check :) We both were married before, plus my fiance is a retired military officer and I am from the country that is considered an "enemy" of the US, alas. So, maybe that?

Don't drive yourself crazy, comparing your case with someone's else. Every case is unique. Your NOA2 will come eventually. I am praying for all us, still waiting. Enjoy your time in Vietnam with your loved one!

Accidentally came across this topic Q&A With a Former USCIS Adjudicator. It's an old one but gave me at least some perspective what's going on inside USCIS and how it proceeds our petitions. I thought, it might be useful for you as well, guys.

Well, Lana had the interview this morning, actual interview was 20 minutes with questions pertaining to her work history.  They did not say yes or no, nor did they request additional information.  They did take her passport and said they would have an anwser in 1 or 2 wks.  Additionally, this was the same response provided to 3 other girls waiting.  Not sure what to say:(

The consular telling you "approved" or "not approved" means nothing. They are not even held accountable for telling you wrong information. Ive heard them tell people they have been approved, even when they get a 221g!

The fact that that they took the passport means they will likely issue the visa.  It's a great sign.

Congrats! NVC next. Be prepared to wait 21-30 days until you get a case number. I recommend calling them at the 14 day mark and every few days after that until you have it.

Not to mention you could be in the dreaded "AP" black hole for weeks or even months despite being 'approved." I've read about couples here having to put their lives on hold for much longer than anticipated just because of this "AP" nonsense!

Long time since I have posted. The interview was completed on 1/17. The Consulate Officer told her she was approved and handed her two papers. One was explaining the process and what to do if she has issues or is abused etc.. The other paper said Congratulations in order to receive your passport and visa you need an account on USTRAVELDOCS. The visa updates appear there and it will say the visa is ready.

hey that is excellent new my Seattle friend.

76 days what a relief.

NVC hasn't had nearly as much work to do as USCIS slow to get them cases.

Some recent folks got their NVC in around 10-12 days. I would start calling Thursday or Friday of next week.

Congrats again.

I'm sure your partner will be very happy to hear the news.

We ran a search earlier this evening for 10/31 received dates and no approvals came up so not sure how we missed yours.

I was actually on the phone with her which was around 7PM when I got an email notification from USCIS. Thanks again! Btw, are there any documents we need to get ready while waiting for our case to be routed to NVC? I'm doing a quick research right now though, but I just want to get feedback from anyone here.

Your very welcome :-)

This question is basically asking if you have other people dependent on you for support?  young children or maybe an aging parent that you help take care of. it is not asking if you are supporting your fiance.   hope that helps
