Will traffic citation effect ROC?

Hi I'm the US citizen spouse. We submitted our ROC packet the other day.  However this morning when picking my husband up from work at about 5 am I was really tired while driving. I was swerving into the other lane and got pulled over by the police. They gave me a traffic citation: failure to drive in designated lane. Petty traffic misdemeanor. I know they will probably background check me again during ROC since I'm the sponsor. Will this effect or hinder our process? This is my first ticket I've ever gotten. Otherwise my record is clean.

these are the instructions to fill the I-751 form regarding traffic violations:

 

NOTE: Unless a traffic incident was alcohol or drug related, you do not need to submit documentation for traffic fines and incidents that did not involve an actual arrest if the only penalty was a fine of less than $500 and/or points on your driver s license. 

 

But, if I understood correctly, you already filed the form. Therefore, you'll need to be honest on your interview if the fine was higher than $500.

The fine is around $130. No arrests or alcohol or drugs were involved. It was a failure to use designated lane. I know they do background checks on both of us that's why I asked. I'm the US citizen spouse.

Pretty sure they don't do any checks on the USC spouse. The ROC is all about the immigrant. The only involvement of the USC spouse is in helping provide proof of bona fide marriage.

Also, I don't think it affects the ROC decision even if the citation is for the immigrant. I had a citation for driving with a suspended license (I didn't know it was suspended because it was suspended in a different state and the dmv there never informed me that I had to pay extra assessment fee), but I got the approval regardless.

If you are interviewed or have an RFE that explicitly requests that information, please go ahead, otherwise, since the nature of your incident is within the terms of the application, you should be fine. In my opinion.

You are not the applicant so it shouldn't affect anything.. If both of y'all are interviewed, just make sure both of y'all have the same story..lol

The petitioner's criminal history, citation etc doesn't affect the petition, ROC or anything else. The only petitioner crime that US immigration cares about are the ones that fall under VAWA. Don't even sweat it...
