Looking for I-129F/K1 Packet 3 & 4 information (merged topics)

I swear I saw a link that showed what's contained in these before, but I can't seem to find them now.

My case has been forwarded to NVC on June 6, and I am trying to prepare my part of the documentation

to be sent to the fiancee in China.

Also, I wanted to give her heads up, so that she can get started on the Packet 3 without

waiting for the P3 checklist to arrive.

If you can reply to me with the P3/P4 information link, I would appreciate it.

The Tianyu Garden location is the OLD address that my family was processed through in 2012. We were processed prior to the advent of CGI Stanley (ustraveldocs). The Huijiu Road location is the NEW and current location of the US consulate in Guangzhou.

My I-129F was approved by TSC and sent to NVC on June 6.

I read the K Visa instructions few times, and it's mostly clear

but I still have few questions:

1) What is the difference between packet 3 vs. 4?

Is packet 3 merely a notification that local embassy has received our K1 Visa case

and they just point you to follow the K visa instructions?

2) Also, K1 visa instruction seems to indicate that she will need to bring all

required documents to the interview (unless they make specific requests).

Are there any documents we need to send to embassy before the interview

or does she bring them ALL to the interview?

3) Lastly, does NVC sends you any type of notification such as

when they receive our case, when they approve and send the case to local embassy?

Or do we just find out by calling NVC?

1. Packet 3 is the instruction that the US embassy send to the beneficiary. Packet 4 is the interview date.
2. We have different consulates. But based on my experience, I brought all required documents to my interview. Some consulates asked beneficiaries sent by mail or scanned those via email.

The petitioner will get mail from NVC contain information both from petitioner and beneficiary including the case number. You can check my K-1 visa timeline so you can estimate how long it takes. Also, you can call them. I called both NVC and DoS back in 2013. I actually got my case number from DoS. But, last time I heard, DoS is not accepted phone calls from K-1 visa applicants anymore.

That is country specific. Not all have a packet 3 and/or 4. Some have you mail things back to the consulate before the interview, and some do not.
