Hey everybody, I need help/advice!

My fiance has had her K1 visa issued and used it, she's here in the US. That's the good news.. She lost her passport which had the visa in it! so we have some qustions that I was hoping someone could help me with.

1st- She is trying to figure out how to get it replaced, she is Brazilian and we ae using the Houston consulate... we have filed a police report, so no questions i guess just any advice would be nice.

2nd- our wedding is in Hawaii, will she need the visa, or just the passport for travel? will her Brazilian ID work?

3rd- Adjustment of status... how will we go about this without the visa?

thanks in advance!

While I have non specific information on thnis, an inquiry to the Braziliam consuate sounds like a logical first step. They are the ones who replace the passport.

She will need the passport for ID to travel because she is a foreign national in the US. You can check the TSA website but I am fairly certain a foreign national ID will not work.

I would get the I-94 online right away. You might be able to AOS without the visa with the I-94. Did you make a copy of the visa? That would be all you need.

Obviously you need a new passport for the AOS too, but that should be easily obtainable.

Do not remember needing my passport for AoS?

Need a copy of the K-1 visa and government-issued ID, which the bio page of the passport works as.
