Thanks for the post Mirla! Interesting and EXTREMELY frustrating at the same time. At least we know that there actually is a reason for the sudden stop... if that reason is comforting or not I do not know. Weekends are hard for me too, especially because no one at USCIS is working. Ughhh. But hey, we are all in this together, sucks that we are all so frustrated but we aren't the only ones. I still have hope they will get through the majority of May before Sept ends!!!!! Come on USCIS!

Hey Bazookis,

Looks like our timelines are very close. I am still hoping the majority of May filers will be approved before this month is over also. The hope and excitement on here was palpable after all the approvals were posted on Wednesday and Thursday. Now it is back to the endless waiting game.

I haven´t been on vj for too long but for those who had been here since around may, do you remember any approvals back then???

It sounds like poor planning and poor management to me. Oh, and by the way, what a bright idea they had in closing the Nebraska and Texas Service Centers to K1/K3 processing in concert with the other issues going on...never ceases to amaze (and anger) me to think about it.

Must have closed the Nebraska & Texas service centers to K1/K3 applicants so they have time to work those “more important” employment related VISAs…

I-129 Petition for A Nonimmigrant Worker H-2A - Temporary workers 15 Days Goal

I-129 Petition for A Nonimmigrant Worker H-2B - Other temporary workers 30 Days Goal

and time to process those premium processing employment VISAs, which of course premium processing is not offered to us…wouldn’t want to slow down those work VISAs…

I just found out this. This guys spoke in person with USCIS...

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=88311

"As i asked him questions about the process, he finally told me that they are backed up for two reasons, which I found to be the most interesting information he gave me. Everyone knows they more or less stopped processing petitions due to the fee increase in July resulting in a massive influx of petitions, they had a lot of the officers pulled off their normal adjudications and help with filing, data entry, and initial reviews checking the petitions for accuracy, correct filing fees and procedures, etc. But also he said that they stopped processing petitions in May/June during the height of the immigration debate and pending legislation in Congress to overhaul USCIS. Evidently, they didn't want to waste time or resources working on any new cases if Congress was going to change the processing and rules in midstream"

....I was also thinking....why do they ask for RFE!!! Whatelse they want to see besides all the proof you send with your app...aren't you free to marry whoever you want...???

:o That's really AWFUL! They really don't seem to have any idea how painful it is to be kept away from your loved ones!

*hugs* everyone...

Thanks for posting that Mirla.

Ever Hopeful,

Annette

That´s nothing compared to our timeline....

Don´t you think that is the timeline that K-1´s should have???? We are getting married!!! It´s our life that they are keeping on hold, right??? For those people it´s work, I know it´s important but applying for a job abroad always take time...right?? You just don´t quite your job one day, find a good offer the day after and sell your house and pack in 24hrs!!!

I think they should work on USC´s applications faster than the other ones.....right? I think that for employment visas they pay an extra charge to make the process faster......I read that somewhere...then It should be the same for K1´s!

Our case is different and this current timeline has to change!

Quit being so petty. So you are away from your SO for now. Just think of all those that came before us that had to wait. So quit crying. ;) Of course I am being sarcastic...seems like when we complain about the wait, there are a few on this site that basically like to tell us to shut up. They say they are trying to give advice, but I don't think telling us to shut up is the way to go.

Jamie76,

I thought for a moment that you were one of those "veterans" in the other thread and you just meandered over here to our thread this weekend to "help" us out. Good to see you were kidding around. I guess we need to be able to laugh at the craziness of the system. Take care

In addition, when you look at the timeline of these people who are trying to give us advice regarding the wait, you see that they were approved in 2 months. Let me see, a 2 month wait is the same as a 4-5 month wait. I don't think so  Maybe I am just getting to sensitive.

Come on USCIS give us 5 approvals a day. I am sure you can do that without breaking a sweat!!!!
