Any idea why VSC is so slow in processing ROC?

I'd love to know the same thing. USCIS did just put out a notice that certain paperwork usually assigned to the VSC is being shifted to California and Nebraska, but the I-751 wasn't one of them! It's still 8-12 months for VSC, right?

I've been following visajourney for a while but just registered to reply to this topic. I'm also awaiting my I751 decision that I filed to VSC back in May '15. They are still not done with March filers, which they've been handling since September '15. If you go to USCIS processing times website, VSC is stuck with March 2 2015 cases for about 3 months now. Luckily in August all January and February VSC filers got transferred to CSC, otherwise we may still be talking about those cases.

I don't think the answer your question has anything to do with the complicatedness of I-751 cases VSC receives. I think it's simply because VSC is understaffed. I've been seen posts from 10 years ago and by then people were still complaining on the speed of VSC. Some people say I-751 is not a priority for VSC but I want to ask to those why CSC would think I-751 is a priority and handle its cases much faster than VSC. On top of that it is also possible VSC directors want the officers to spend more time examining I-751 cases, who knows. unfortunately, you will never find a statistic on average time spent on the jurisdiction of I-751 cases at CSC vs VSC to learn more on this.

Now, what can USCIS do to help VSC other than transferring the workload every 3-4 months? I actually posted about this at trackitt.com, so kinda repeating here. They can move some of the states filing to VSC to CSC and help reduce the workload at VSC. or just assign all I-751 cases to one service center, whether it's CSC or VSC, who cares but make everyone all over the US wait (or call it suffer) the same amount of time. Currently CSC people wait 4-5 months, VSC waits 9-10 months. Why not make everyone wait 6-7 months? or ask for more federal budget, hire and train more officers. or maybe get more local field office involvement in I-751 jurisdiction.

please share your thoughts. Good luck to all VSC filers and happy new year!!

But I just found this video on youtube from 2012. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlNkcvuqXBo The video says VSC gets around 1Million cases a year (all cases included), and at some point they mention there are 800 workers.

Do the math.... for a 250 business days in a year, each worker has to process 5 cases per day. 8 hours per day means a case must be processed in about 1.5 hours to prevent backlogs. When you think about vacation times, coffee breaks, lunch breaks, meetings, and other trainings, etc. they have to process a case in even less time than that. That's it!!!

Last update to processing times was November 30th. Should have the December update soon?

USCIS updates its processing times only once a month and with ~1.5month delay. November 30th dated update was actually posted just couple days ago. So, expect the update for December 31st around Feb 15th.
