ThIs is probably the 500th time I have said this in the UK FORUM --

You will save yourself time and frustration if you make getting your shots a priority over rushing to make your medical appointment. Sometimes there is a wait to get a shot appointment so check that out before worrying about calling NVC for your LND number so you can jump the queue to get a medical appointment. You can even do it before your NOA2.

Here is yet another post from someone who didn't get shots BEFORE going to Knightsbridge. He now needs a civil surgeon to fill in an immunization form before he can file AOS. He has called twenty. Do not believe the Knightsbridge nurse who says you can go to your GP after the exam and use that proof for your AOS. You will have to get signed off by a Civil Surgeon. If you get signed off on all the shots at Knightsbridge, that immunizations sheet is good for AOS. If she says you are a K1 and don't need the shots now, tell her I WANT THEM, even if you have to pay. It beats being that person who gets quoted $600 in the US.

In essence then everyone in the UK should let this song be their motto with Knightsbridge. ;-)

My guy has been waiting a month to get his shots from his GP, and finally will this week. Though he has no record of MMR and will have to come back in for the second dose. It makes complete sense to me though. The UK fiancé should want to get stuff done and out of the way for free if at all possible or at the Knightsbridge appointment so they will never have to worry about it again and make sure that form they get is complete before leaving the building.

The original of the vaccination sheet will be in the file with the other medical results, so that would cover it. However most send a photocopy of the sheet they gave you to remind them you are wanting them to clear you with that form (DS-3025).

Wish I had read this earlier! so I didn't have any records of my MMR from my childhood when i went to Knightsbridge, so decided to get both MMR shots at my local GP after, having second one in couple weeks. Now reading this I realise I have probably wasted my time or what? The letter from my doctor in the UK isn't going to be any use for USCIS is it? And now my Knightsbridge records have been sent i'm guessing I can't get them to update the vaccination sheet either?

Any answers advice good people?!

If your doctor gave them free, then you didn't waste your time. BUT you will require a new immunization form I-693 done by a Civil Surgeon in the US. Take any and all records to him and he will combine them all onto one official form. Flu season is ending, so don't bother with that. You will get a "not flu season" waiver marked by the Civil Surgeon for an appointment Aptil 1 to Sept 30.

To clarify-- a Civil Surgeon will accept your doctor's records, or Boots or Tesco's or the DS3025 in order to fill out the official form. The USCIS won't accept anything that didn't come from a Panel Physician or Civil Surgeon.

But as Nich-Nick has already said, a lot (dare I say "most"?) civil surgeons in the US won't simply transcribe your vaccinations on to an I-693 for you. You'd be lucky to find one who will do just that for a few bucks. They will most likely insist you undergo another full medical examination at the cost of hundreds of dollars, even though you don't need to.

Thanks for your respnses, It's clear now, a pity the information isn't made clearer by USCIS etc. My fault for not delving deeper into VJ forums!

My GP did my vaccinations for free so just have to hope it doesn't cost too much stateside. Knightsbridge were going to charge me a couple hundred quid for MMR and tdap so it might not be a massive difference in the end. In hindsight though I would have paid Knightbridge to save the hassle. But what will be will be, if i have to pay a few hundred bucks stateside then it will be a price worth paying considering the time it has all taken to get there!
