You only need to send the original (or certified copy) of the beneficiary (or applicant's) birth certificate to NVC. The sponsor or the joint sponsor does not need to send their birth certificates. Please read the NVC Guide again.

This isn't true a joint sponsor has to show proof of citizenship or naturalization.

They can go get a certified copy of their birth certificate.

I don't think so, for OFC we need to bring, interview letter, ofc appointment letter, ds-260 confirmation page and passport.

She got her biometrics done today. All they asked was the DS-260 confirmation, biometrics appointment letter and her original current passport.

Hello dwheels76! I have a question maybe you can help me with this. I already got my I-130 case complete last 17th of April and waiting for the interview date. Just now I received a letter of my approved I-129F with NVC case# and when I checked on the portal the status was "Ready" since Feb 3. Do I have to just ignore it or call NVC and cancel my I-129F? Will it affect my I-130 case? Thanks.

Thank you for correcting me. The joint sponsor can be either a USC or LPR. And they can prove it in any one of several ways - birth certificate, naturalization certificate, copy of bio page of US passport or in the case of a LPR - copy of 'green card' etc. And I am guessing the OP had submitted on of these with the AOS package.

So I am not sure why they (the consulate) only mentioned birth certificate? And why do they want to see a copy (or original) again?

A more broader question - can the consulate (any consulate) ask to see the original of the petitioner's proof of USC at the interview?

WOW that's a shame you could have been done if you followed that. You are already on your course of action for a CR1/IR1 just ignore yes.

Hello everybody!! Please I am from Algeria applying for CR1 visa type. I got my case complete at NVC two days ago I was notified about it through email. My question is how long does nvc take to schedule my interview appoinment at the US Embassy in Algiers?

CEAC status shows as IN TRANSIT Husband booked his medical for two weeks from today, so London will be ready to add his results to the case when they arrive from Knightsbridge.

Hey I was just wondering whether your status has changed yet? Mines still shows as 'In Transit' and I know we got interview date on the same day so thought to ask you.

Still shows as being in transit for me as well. I didn't bother trying to track the shipment, so at this point I don't know what's taking time, the shipment or the update online

Actually I called already coz I was worried. The CSR told me it was sent at the embassy last Jan 24 but the last update was Feb 3. Anyway, there's nothing I can do with it. Thanks anyway! Yup I just I have to ignore it! Well, it's almost done!

Btw, CC was 15th of April not on the 17th. I will just fill up the form and update it!

bbaahhhh.....I have been so busy lately ( thats a lie) forgot about the spreadsheet.However, upon your humble request, I am going to finish the task rightnow ..... Jokes apart, I opened the spreedsheet 3 times and then thought that I will fill it when I get the interview date.
