My case got completed yesterday (completed the form :)). My consulate is Mumbai India. I have few questions on next steps:

  1. In few of the threads above, someone talked about getting expedited interview dates. Is it possible to get one? YES IT IS POSSIBLE TO EXPEDITE IT.. IT ALL DEPEND FROM CASE TO CASE... YOU CAN TRY IT....
  2. I understand that May interview dates are all taken. Should I just wait for NVC to send me the interview date via email? Or should I call them daily to ask for an interview date (in June)?.....YOU HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE NVC TO SCHEDULE THE INTERVIEW FOR YOU.....UNTIL IF U EXPEDITE IS APPROVED THEN U CAN GET A DATE IN MAY......BUT WAIT FOR NVC TO SCHEDULE THE INTERVIEW...

Thanks a lot.

CONGRATS TOO U....

FIRST, AS UR CASE IS COMPLETED THUS NVC WILL SCHEDULE THE INTERVIEW (THAT MEAN NVC WILL CALL MUMBAI CONSULATE TO SCHEDULE YOUR INTERVIEW) SO HANG ON......TYPICALLY SCHEDULING START IN THE LAST WEEK OR FIRST WEEK OF THE MONTH....U SHOULD GET A INTERVIEW IN MONTH OF JUNE....

SECONDLY, FOR THE EXPEDITE....AS PER NVC OR ANY CONSULATE INTERVIEW CAN BE PREPONE ONLY ON BASED OF HUMANTARIAN GROUNDS LIKE LIFE OR DEATH SITUATION..... YOU CAN STILL TRY TO EXPEDITE THE CASE BY EMAILING NVC ON NVCExpedite <nvcexpedite@state.gov>.....

THIRDLY, ONCE YOU GET THE INTERVIEW DATE FROM NVC...YOU CAN EMAIL MUMBAI CONSULATE TO EXPEDITE THE CASE...YOU CAN FIND THE

EMAIL ON THE THIS LINK---- http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/contact.html%C2'>

I tried to expedite my wife case with both nvc and mumbai consulate......they both denied it multiple times....but my suggestion is try it bcoz there is nothing to lose in it OR you can wait for the interview date bcoz it almost last week of this month so they might start scheduling interview for everyone anytime from now....once you get the interview date then do the expedite at mumbai consulate....

Best of luck on watever you decide....cheers

Hello All,

Interview scheduled at NEW DELHI

I scheduled the OFC appointment for my wife in New Delhi. We received the confirmation email with instructions and the checklist for the required documents to bring. All the documents they requested at the OFC appt are the one they want us to bring to the actual interview so I am a bit confuse why they want those at the OFC.

Thanks,

Me too. Do we need to bring doubles?

I am flying to Montreal to attend interview with my husband. Should I go into the Consulate with him or wait outside?? I am no good under stressful situations and fear I could screw things up. I have panic attacks, sweat, cry, the list goes on. I am pretty sure his Visa will be denied because they are going to tell him he needs to apply for a waiver and I am afraid I may loose it.

I think it is a personal choice. Don't be stressed. i know easier said than done. But you have waited so long to go through this process and you are flying to be with him on the day. hey go with him. Why not? And remember (this is what my friend told me who appeared for the interview about a month ago), its ok to give incorrect answers. if your relationship is genuine you tend to make mistakes about things from the past. and then you correct them. Its very natural. What is unnatural is if you know everything about your spouse in the first go. About everything.

So relax and enjoy the interview. I am sure it will go smoother easier and better than you can ever imagine. Fingers crossed. And being little nervous is always a good thing.

Best of luck

Why do you feel you need a waiver? maybe you are worrying needlessly or do you know for a fact he does.

Well think even if you are outside you maybe too stressed because you don't know whats happening inside. So you must do whats best for you.
