You're on the right age. On the other hand, if you want to be secure, let both of your parents have it parental consent, well, just in case. innocent.gif

24 is the cutoff

I would like to read some proof of this from anyone whom has experienced this being true. The law is flawed in more than one way. The law states 18-21 parental consent. 21-25 parental advice. First, the overlap of age 21. what happens if you are 21? consent or advice? Second, everyone is saying don't worry about it if you are 25. However the law does not say this. I noticed cities vary too. Davao says 25 is cutoff. Quezon says 24 is cutoff. Even the US DOT website contradicts that of the US Embassy Manila website. It doesn't make sense. Which one is it? 24 or 25? Anyone had any problems passing through CFO at age 25 without a notarized parental advice letter?

From a simple math standpoint, 25 and 1 day is more than 25. ie, 25.1 > 25, or 25.1 does not fall in the range 21-25.

At 25 you should not need parental consent or advice , you are beyond the cutoff even if it is 24 or 25.

That's fine, but that usually isn't the way laws work. Also, from a simple statistics standpoint, when something states a range such as 21-25, it includes 21 as the minimum and 25 as the maximum. I could be wrong since this is the Philippines, but when a law includes an age limit of some kind in the US, it is to be taken for what it is. 25 is 25, not 25 and such and such days closer to 26. Even this rationale would not explain the overlap in 18-21 and 21-25 that is included in the law. I guess you could say the day after your 21st birthday, the latter would apply. However, that is not what is stated anywhere that I have found. Perhaps, a Philippines lawyer could explain the technicalities if there are any.

At 25 you should not need parental consent or advice , you are beyond the cutoff even if it is 24 or 25.

This is my thinking as well. However, the links I provided contradict one another so that is where my confusion is.

One thing you can do is ask at City Hall in the city you are getting married. Is there some reason why you cant get the parental consent if you needed it? It seems like that would be the simplest and least worrisome thing to do.

Hi. I need help regarding my situation. I am 23 and it says that I need to get a Parental Advice that I am getting married and travel in the US.

However, I grew up with my grandmother side and I didn’t have the chance to meet my mother since 3 years old. On the other hand, I have communications with my father.

Should I ask my father and grandmother to sign the parental advice on a different letter?

Please help. Thank you in advance.

For CFO.    Get your father's signature.   If CFO asks about the mother signature, explain as you did here.

Your grandmother is not a legal guardian is she?  If no, you don't need her signature,

Got it. Should I create a simple letter or does it needs to be like a sworn legal letter?

No, she’s not my legal guardian because there’s no legal documents. But she’s the one who took care of me since 3 years old.
