Ohh I see now! I'm definitely going to look in to this. I'm not sure how the expediting process works. Perhaps I can call and speak to someone who would tell me if our situation would qualify for expedition. Thanks! :)

The way I read it is that if you file the change of address and something bad happens, you are off the hook and they expidite your paperwork. Kinda like a safety net. I'd need to do more research too though.

NOA 2. Really?

I was just checking processing times at VSC, they are still not updated since March 20th... Maybe it will be updated tomorrow?

By the way, I noticed that none of the people in CSC had been asked for the interview. Is the interview pretty uncommon in this stage, they just approve most of the time based on documents submitted? For some reason I was under impression that there will be interview again which is fine, as I have all the documents ready and the first interview seemed more like a casual chat with the nice younger woman who was processing our paperwork. My husband can be really charming when he wants to, so that may have helped ;)

It is really nice to see that no one in our group had major issues so far and fingers crossed that few people who had to submit additional evidence will get their approvals too... :star:

Stinker What did you send?

Hmm, lets see what this 2.5 inches included this time..(by the way I LOVE how they ask for all documentation since 9-2009 but gave me a tiny envelope to mail it in..lol). I was really grasping at straws to come up with stuff so I mostly stuck with what they wanted (Bank statements and utility bills).

*Blue Sheet

*Our legal identification

*Copy of our dental office print out showing both names, that husband is married and that son is listed

*Postcard from our former real estate agent reminding us who she transferred us to. We are using Coldwell Banker to sell the home that is currently only in my name due to having bought it several years prior to our marriage. We will be putting the new home in both names.

*Copy of the due receipt for our business license renewal showing husband's name and our address

*Our home and car insurance statement with ours and both our sons names on it

*Our joint bank statements since the month we were married (full copies)

*Our PG&E bills (full copies) since mid 2011 when we went ahead and put both our names on the account.

*Misc emails from friends and family witnessing our relationship

That sounds more than adequate I would think you'll be fine. We have the approval letter but still waiting for the actual Green Card.

AngelinaBlack: Interviews at the RoC stage, all other things being equal, are quite uncommon. There is a certain % (well under 10) who get randomly assigned interviews as a purely nominal quality control step. There probably have to be significant issues with your evidence or immigration file to get one otherwise. Simply having adjusted from a student or tourist visa doesn't seem to increase your chances of an interview either, the way it can during AOS.

naji1995: It is perfectly normal at this point not to have heard anything from the Vermont Service Center. They are at least 2-3 months behind the California Service Center. Since you have done your biometrics, and it has not quite been 6 months, there is literally nothing you can do. They will not even respond to a service query for another week or so, because they are still wihtin their posted service timeline, and even once they pass 6 months, their response will be that they're working on it, and that they will contact you when they get to your file. Which, as I said, will be at least another month or two.

DON'T PANIC

"It says wonderful things about the two countries [Canada and the US] that neither one feels itself being inundated by each other's immigrants."

-Douglas Coupland

Yeah.. I talked it over with Phil and we're going to wait and see what happens with this job first. He's got to have an offer first and then we'll move on from there. I think Phil is still nervous to move at all which I understand but I definitely don't want to miss this opportunity.

Ok off went the RFE package today...wish it luck everyone!:luv:

Adding naji1995 to the list. I added your NOA1 date from your timeline - weird you got your NOA1 after your biometric appointment! As HeatDeath said, you can see all of us in the October filers VSC are in the same boat - no one has been approved yet. And actually, it's CSC that's "promising" a 6 month processing, not VSC. According to VSC's timeline on the USCIS.GOV website, they are processing cases from June 20, 2011. If you read the little excerpt at the top it says "IMPORTANT: If your receipt notice date is earlier then the processing date shown, we suggest you call our USCIS Customer Service Office at 1-800-375-5283 for assistance." This means that until that processing date says October __ , 2011, we all have to sit around and wait. :(

I've just gone into both centers list of processing times. As I was scrolling through looking for the I-751, it seemed to me that the CSC list was shorter. On comparing, it is shorter. By 15 types.

So, there appear to be 15 types filed for and processed out of VSC, that do not appear on the list out of CSC. Here is one only on the VSC list:

I-212 Application for Permission to Reapply for Admission into the U.S. After Deportation or Removal Readmission after deportation or removal May 2, 2011

Things that make you go hmmmm...perhaps that is why VSC seems always so far behind.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Hmm yeah that's interesting. Maybe it is why they are behind...

Yeah.. I talked it over with Phil and we're going to wait and see what happens with this job first. He's got to have an offer first and then we'll move on from there. I think Phil is still nervous to move at all which I understand but I definitely don't want to miss this opportunity.

Good luck however it works out. :)

NOA 2. Really?
