Okay, I've gone through the entire list of recent sign-in fails and took a note of the number of days it took to get a sign-in failed from the day NVC received your last package.

In case you're interested: 9, 10, 8, 6, 8, 10, 10, 11, 9, 10, 9 business days.

List of VJers waiting for a SIF/CC. Updated by the date on which NVC received their last package. Please use the most current list, arranged chronologically.

(03/02/2010) -- Sachinky

(03/05/2010) -- Amit-N-Melody

(03/10/2010) -- M&ME

(03/11/2010) -- PKG2010, Sassythea

(03/12/2010) -- MattandRian

(03/15/2010) -- Dawn654, jrd4508, Emmamama

(03/17/2010) -- Atsleumas, Yulechka42, Tatyana R, Bobobo

going by this Sachinky.. I wonder.. if I used the average which is 10 days, then when I add it to the date that they recieved my last package I should have an case complete on the 19th... if I add it too the date that the operator keeps telling me <the 9th is when the DS-230 came under review> then.. the date of a case complete would be the 23rd... lets see... at this point I am tryin to not obsess about it... can you tell???? :P

Pay attention, non-EP NVC noobs. Here's Christeen's time tested formula to get you through NVC in one piece alive:

Petitioner: Get NVC # + give operator your email IDs + receive AOS fee bill + pay 70$ online + wait to show paid + print cover sheet + send I-864 AOS with all documents and case # written on each page.

Beneficiary: Get NVC# + receive DS3032 + send DS3032+ DS3032 accepted + IV fee bill available to be paid + pay & wait to show paid + print IV cover sheet + mail DS230 package with all original/certified documents

= wait for case complete + wait for interview to be scheduled.

Suggestions:

1) Have the beneficiary mail SIGNED extra DS230s to you so that you have them handy in case something goes wrong. Or you get hit by a dreaded RFE.

2) If you just received your NOA2, THIS is the time to get your tax stuff and police certificates sorted out. Don't waste time on this.

3) Double check the PCC requirements in the regional forums as they are country specific.

Currently the # of business days NVC is taking:

3-4 days for NVC to receive your case and assign a case #.

3-4 days to receive emailed links after case # has been assigned and email addresses been given to NVC operator.

1-2 days for the AOS bill to show as PAID.

1-3 days for DS3032 to be accepted.

3-4 days for IV bill to be PAID.

8-11 days for case complete after all your documents have been sent in.

Folks--please make sure your official VJ timelines are up to date. Remember this is our only source of predictions. Thankyou!

Regarding the AOS package:

First thing, I would recommend is that you print out the I-864 form and read the instructions about 2 times. Mark out the relevant portions and ask any questions you might have after that. I would suggest you read the guides for a comprehensive idea about how the AOS packet will comprise.

Recommended AOS package:

I-864 Coversheet (with barcode) for payment of $70

Form I-864 (signed and dated)

2008 Federal Tax Return/W2 and 1099s or IRS tax transcript.

2007 Federal Tax Return and W2 and 1099s or IRS tax transcript.

2006 Federal Tax Return/W2 and 1099s or IRS Tax Transcript

Letter of Employment

Pay stub(s) from the most recent six months

Bank Statements.

Some people are choosing to send in 2009 W2s.

Remember, the USC petitioner will file a I-864 regardless of income. If your joint sponsor lives in the same household as the petitioner, then they will use I-864A. If they live in a separate residence, then they will fill in another I-864.

For your joint sponsor you will need proof of their citizenship/residency. For household member, you will need proof of relationship and same household/residence.

Folks--please make sure your official VJ timelines are up to date. Remember this is our only source of predictions. Thankyou!

A guide to the DS230 packet for Indian beneficiaries.

--Cover sheet for Immigrant Visa Bill of $400.

--Two (2) Passport Size Photographs of Beneficiary (Beneficiary's full name, and date of birth are written on back of both).

--DS-230 Part 1 completed and signed by beneficiary.

--DS-230 Part 2 completed by beneficiary, unsigned, as of yet, per instructions.

--Original Marriage certificate

--Photocopy of Marriage Certificate

--Original Birth Certificate

--Photocopy of Birth Certificate

--Original Police Clearance Certificate from Local Police Station, Calcutta

--Original Police Clearance Certificate from Regional Passport Office, Calcutta

--Photocopy of beneficiary's Indian passport.

I thought I'd add that for the Philippines, It's not a Police Clearance (although I'll be sending one of those too) they want, it's the NBI Clearance. That's the culprit that's making me wait until Friday to send my DS-230 packet.

hmmmm now I wonder if that list applies to cases where the last thing that the NVC got was an RFE response. Would that be the same as them receiving docs, or would it be safe to assume that RFE's get handled quicker or treated different since the initial review has already been done...

10 busness days for a review of our RFE would put us at the 29th. UGH. Thats way too close to the beginning of the month for me. I want a May interview!

My grandpa used to say you can "s*hit in one hand, and wish in the other, and see which gets filled up first"

Ye ask and Ye shall receive!!! glad to be here :)))) i will call on friday to get my case #s and then be off to the races! So one big question to clarify - the NVC sets up the interview date at the embassy correct??? we dont have to wait for the cases to go from the NVC to the embassy and then wait for the embassy to schedule the interview correct??? i guess i'm thinking of the 129f k3 flowchart, which is dead....

Another big question - LingChe's shortcut says to send in original birth certificates and marriage certificates for the ds-230 package. did you guys do that, or send in copies??? We got 2 original copies of our marriage certificate, so sending in 1 original is not a problem, but there is only 1 birth certificate original...

For AOS, I have my last 3 years tax returns (2007, 2008, 2009). I also have my W2s, but if I already have my tax returns, do I need to send in the W2s (I will; no big deal)? I already have an employment letter. I can print out all my paystubs as they're all pretty much avaiilable electronically; so no worries there...

finally - the timeline page has entries for package 3 and 4; my guess is that these are for the K3 and NOT for IR-1/CR-1, correct? as package 3 and 4 are just the ds-230 package with interview appts (for package 4). Thanks guys! so glad to be part of this forum now!!!!!

1.) Yes you have to send in all original documents plus 1 copy... and then make a copy of the package for yourself.. you will get all originals back at the interview

2.) yes, I would send in the W-2's also..

3.) correct... that isnt for the CR-1

i was checking the tracking shipment on DHL and i see a package picked up from DOS on 17 March going to american embassy, kathmandu, nepal. i hope it's mine. i emailed the embassy in kathmandu inquiring about the april schedule but no good answer. upon contacting nvc an operator said " your case was completed on march 15th only and we schedule interviews with embassy only on the second week of month, so call back during second week of april". doesn't look like i'm gonna make april interview.
