If you use all available outward means, as well as your natural abilities, to overcome every obstacle in your path, you will thus develop the powers that God gave you--unlimited powers that flow from the innermost forces of your being. You possess the power of thought and the power of will. Utilize to the uttermost these divine gifts!-- Paramahansa Yogananda, "The Law of Success"

From everything I've read, the photos seem to be one of the best forms of evidence. We took over 800 pics while I was there and we took tons of wedding photos. We share a prepaid debit card so I print those statements monthly and it shows all the transactions there in Tacloban. I think you've about covered it :) Those are all the same things she and I have been collecting. Oh, cell or home phone bills are good evidence too if you have those. We text a lot :)

Hello all -- I have banned myself from the NVC site. So I am not checking in till Monday. We'll see how THAT goes.

Of course that didn't prevent me from having a minor attack--Alicia, you're not the only one who has trouble with math. Apparently, I can't count either. So my PCCs are dated October 23 and November 1--suddenly, as soon as I woke up, I thought "Oh, God! That's in another week or so! I bet they are going to hold us back till then and then RFE us for new PCCs. Aw lordy!" My mom sat with a calendar and counted the days for me before I stopped hyperventilating. So it's valid till April which means I'd probably need new ones for the interview (or not if they hold it as valid for 1 year for embassy purposes) but that's okay.

Someone tell me how to get screenshots while chatting on AIM, please?

I expect a case complete on Friday/Monday. And then an interview date next week for early May since Bombay schedules them on the last week of the month as well. I also have written a very polite email requesting an earlier date if possible, that is saved in my husband's email draft box to be sent as soon as we receive the interview date/time.

As far as calls go, they definitely DO log the calls but I doubt they record the entire thing. We've called a bunch so far, everyone's been mostly nice, some more nice than others. When I was calling regarding the RFE, Darnell had told me that it was nearly impossible to get it out of an operator, so I was extra nice, polite and friendly. I chatted with the lady about the power situation in her house, weather in NH and her kids. I then asked her if she could please tell me what the RFE was about since I'd been freaking out all weekend. She told me not to worry, it was nothing major, just bank statements. Relieved, I hung up only to realize I didn't know WHOSE bank statements they were talking about. So we did the drill again with another operator, who told me it was for Mr. Sachinky.

The only witch I spoke to was when I had called to ask why I hadn't received the RFE checklist yet since it had been 3 days since the RFE was on the AVR and when could I expect to find it in my email. She started off with "Ma'am," in her best pissy voice so I thought it was best to end the conversation as soon as her lecture was done. So I hung up with a very perky "Thank you, you've been most helpful! Have a superb day!"

Since then my confidence has taken a beating though, so Mr. Sachinky's been making all the calls. Being on hold is his punishment for not following my instructions to the T.

When the time comes, I too would love to have the earliest interview date possible. Who do you email the request to? The email address on Mumbai Embassy website?

Another question, and may be a very stupid one. But who usually interviews? Americans or Indians? As in the workers.

--The IV unit of the Mumbai consulate. I doubt they'll actually be able to change anything but I suppose it can't hurt to try. My mother-in-law's childhood friend is a Congressman and my husband is on excellent terms with him. He's said he's going to try and help us get an earlier date since he doesn't think it's fair for newly weds to wait this long apart (yes Siree, you're preaching to the choir!) -- let's see if anything comes out of it. I just think it's nice of him to even try.

--The Indian employees do the first round of interviews when they take in your packets. The "main" interview is done by an American officer and usually follows the same pattern of questions.

I'd suggest that you go through the reviews of Mumbai interviews in close detail once your case is completed. Or rather your husband does. It will give you a good idea about what to expect during the process.

When you say reviews, is there a thread on here that I haven't found on Mumbai Interview experience or?
