Went through security and checked-in at the desk in the waiting room...where I did my fingerprint of my two index fingers and took a photo. We did not wait that long, we were called in about 10:10am which was earlier than our set time. We were surprised because we went in before other people than were waiting before us. The IO greeted us and made us feel real comfortable quick. He showed us to his office and asked us to keep standing so that we can take the oath. After that, He told that we can have a sit and began to tell us to relax, take a deep breath, it's not like the movies. Which made us laugh...we were laughing all through the interview. He then first started going through the I-130 with my spouse and then the I-485 with me to confirm our information and that nothing has changed. Then he asked me a few of the yes/no questions. He asked us how we met? and if my family came to the wedding. I was surprised he didnt ask to see any original documents or my passport. Which I thought was kind of odd. The only thing he asked for was my medical. Then that was it...he asked if we had any questions...and I told him I had more pictures, and he said he would love to see them, because that was the best part of his day. He then said we can stop worrying coz he is recommending us for approval! We were so happy!! The interview lasted for about 20mins. At about 3:00pm my status changed to "New card is being produced". 2024-10-24

Amie & Justice K1 Dallas TX 2019-09-11 2019-09-16 2019-10-10 2019-12-18 2019-12-18 Yes No 2019-12-28 AOS interview in Irving (Dallas) Tx We got into the building and had to go through the TSA type security and show the guard the appointment letters. Then we were told to go stand in line to check in. We were called to the window and showed the interview appointment letters again along with ID (our passports). The lady took our photos and index fingerprints from both hands and told us to go upstairs. We found our way to the stairs and went up and checked in with the desk there too. They kept our appointment letters and said to keep an ear out for our names to be called. (It was packed! It took us a bit to find 5 seats for everyone) After about 20 mins we got called by a CO and she took us to the office to be interviewed. She told me to put on her desk my ID (Passport, Driver's License, SSN card, and EAD if I had it, but I did not). She took our fingerprints and photo again and went over our files a bit and did some writing. She then asked us to stand and she swore us in. She said "So how this works is I will ask you some questions, then I will ask your husband (USC) some questions, then I will ask you both questions that you answer at the same time.. finally I will ask the kids some questions." She didn't really though. Her first question to me was "where are you working?" I said "I'm not. I don't have authorization" and my husband mutters "I was going to say in the kitchen". The CO chuckled a bit and asked me very basic things from my application like my place of birth, date of birth, address, phone number, have I ever used previous names, date I entered the US, marriage date, husband's full name and date of birth, have I ever been previously married, what was my divorce date (which I got the year wrong and had to look at my divorce certificate to see... I then made a comment about some things you try to forget), etc. She also went over all those terrorist type yes/no questions from the form. She asked how we met, and my husband told her that we met on Facebook. She took LOTS of notes and made check marks on the application form as we were talking. Then she asked my kids their full names, how old they are (which one got wrong 🙄.. he said he was 9 when he turned 10 on Nov 1st. So she had to look at the file to see). She also asked them what school they go to, what grade they're in, their favorite subject, and who they lived with. Then she asked me to give her anything that they don't already have on file (evidence). She took a letter a friend wrote for us, car title, car registration, copy of my driver's license, car insurance, bank statements, school registration forms showing my husband is listed as the other parent/guardian, school registration form showing me listed as my husband's nephew's emergency contact, an appointment of stand in guardianship form that says if I die, then he takes over the custody of my kids, and everything I printed off Facebook (our profiles that show relationship, mutual friends, and all our life events and the post that shows our wedding was broadcasted live). She said because of the holidays that I can check my status on Dec 31st or I'll receive a letter. And that if they need anything further they will let me know. It must not have gone too bad because I just checked my case status and it says new card is being produced. 😁 2023-02-22
