Why don't you just tell me what to say? If someone assumes that giving human rights to gay people is PC nonsense then that IS ignorance. If you have a problem with gay people perhaps this is not the site for you. Things have changed in US immigration, whether you like it or not. The flow of gay people on this site is only going to increase. It's sad that you are unable to moderate these topics properly.

Congrats on the new job, Marvin. I just turned down a job there in January, they were offering me $120K, but it wasn't quite enough to get me over there. You gotta really watch your budget over there...
Hawaii is awesome, but gotta learn to stay away from Honolulu as much as possible. If you like shrimp, be sure to visit Giovanni's white shrimp truck on the North Shore and get their shrimp and rice plate. If you're bold, get it spicy.
Also, no matter HOW tempting you may find it, never offer to try the Mahu Mahu downtown...

While what happened to Stinney was tragic, and pretty much par for the course in those days, why even mess with it now? Nothing can ever make it right for the kid or his family, though I'm sure they are proud (in a sad way) that Stinney was cleared. But it's not like they will ever know who did the crime, nor be able to punish the (most likely dead) killer.

Sure, I'll wait around for you to predict the decline of the market after it begins to decline. But bear in mind, I will probably expire in about 30 years...

Oh stop it. Surely you know from reading VJ that guns kill people. No need for a crazy or a terrorist.

Didn't you predict a pretty large down-turn in our economy by late 2014 a few months back? Doesn't appear to be happening yet.

I sense some jealousy around here, Marvin. Are you sure we should be working to get in the good graces of Val? Seems there may be more money to be had with these Navy wanna-bees.

    What TBONE said, Marvin. Twice.
Money is not the only reason to change jobs, but it DOES pay the bills. Believe that if the RI folks needed to cut sone expenditures, your salary would be high on their list.
Put yourself and your family first. You've sacrificed enough the past two decades.

Quite a cynical post old chap. But I agree with you. I refuse to leave my house either Thursday or Friday during this holiday. Spent it quietly at home, just my small family and some good food. Thankful for all the blessings I have and for the roof over my head. Things that many people don't have today.Best wishes to you and yours.

Seriously tho, good on them for banding together against the rioters. Folks need to come together and protect what is theirs, for the good of all.

Definitely worth the last few dineros. The one thing I think is a crock is having to pay for biometrics. Again. And Again. It's not like much has changed in the last FOUR fingerprints that were given already.

It's a mentality that is passed down from generation to generation. Do as little as possible, and live on the dole. If you're raised in this way, chances are you'll end up in this position as an adult, and so on. I have many family members that live this lifestyle. As you say, it's pretty sad just living to "get by" I agree with you 100% that society is to blame. Society in its rush to help people, sometimes ends up hurting more than helping.
Then you add a tax code on top of it that rewards low income folks for having children and barely working (EITC) it sends a pretty clear message.
I 100% believe that there should be a TEMPORARY safety net for people that fall on hard times. The problem I have is when it becomes a way of life.
Just remember the mantra, it's never your fault, and you don't have any responsibility for your actions. That's today's message. Seems a lot of people are getting it loud and clear.
