Just as an FYI here is a link to an interesting article about the new Health Care Plan in the US and it's laws regarding a pre-existing condition clause. If for some reason your husband's insurance won't cover you, you can get into the National High Risk Pool.
    Pre-Existing Condition Clause
Also, my husband came from the UK and I didn't have to show them anything. I very adamantly stressed that all he had was a card showing he had insurance and that because it's a pretty common fact that there is a National Healthcare program there, that the insurance company was being absolutely ABSURD in asking for this information. I received his new insurance cards in the mail a week or less after we were married.
EVERYONE needs to keep in mind that insurance companies (and I work in the industry, although not healthcare), ARE NOT GODS. You can argue with them. You can prove your point and fight for what you think is right or obvious. The person on the phone IS NOT always the final say. If they give you ####### about it, ask for the account manager who handles your policy, or ask the Underwriter for the policy to explain why you have to provide it. Ask them why THEIR COMMON SENSE doesn't tell them that it's obvious you've had coverage.

Im sorry to hear about your problems, but before anything, you say you're married but talk about a K-1 Visa? Just clarify a bit on that please, K-1 are for fiancee (not yet married) couples. Perhaps you mistyped and it's K-3?
On the other hand, your responsibility is her and your son. She needs to understand that you cannot support her family, if she doesn't, then maybe she needs to reevaluate who comes first. Because to me, when you choose your partner in life, that's your #1.

That's nothing compared to the whippings I got as a child. Good uncle, just trying to do what's best for this kid.

    You're on the wrong website.
    Go here:
    https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx
And sign in with your NVC case # and IIN, if you get SIGN IN FAILED, that means case is complete or near completion.
    Good luck!

I would of course exhaust all avenues of the visa process first. If all else fails I would absolutely move to the Philippines to be with my soon to be wife. It doesn't matter where we are in the world as long as we are together. It's very possible to make this happen since the money that I can save here in the U.S. would go an extremely long way there.

Well I believe it's a matter of money mostly. If you don't mind having to lose the money you spend on the plane ticket, then go for it and book it. If you're approved and get the visa on time, then you're all set and probably saved some money for booking early. If not, then you lose whatever you spent on it. In our case, I told my husband we should book it until after the interview because we never know what might happen. He said he didn't care losing the money and booked it. So it's your personal decision, good luck!!

And let us give you a bit of advice. When you make it blantantly clear that you are not interested in doing the research yourself and come here begging for answers, the LEAST you can do is be polite to the people who give them to you. You came here and made a post with very little clarity to your situation, asked a question, and then very much came across RUDE to the people who answered you because you didn't like what they told you.
I have never said this to anyone on this forum as of yet, but you've earned it. GO READ THE GUIDES.

I wouldn't be so sure. When I was 11 yrs old I overstayed a tourist visa for an extra 6 months (of course it wasn't my decision), since I was underage I couldn't be held accountable for a decision that wasn't mine. However, now all grown up, I wanted to visit my then boyfriend (now husband) in the US for Easter weekend. Guess what they said? "Sorry, I understand you were a kid when that happened but I can't help you." DENIED.
Most of us in this forum are immigrating to the US to be with our loved ones, or for work, etc. But what about the people that can't initiate an immigration process? A lot of people just say "Go back, and come the right way"... well there isn't always a way. And I know that doesn't make it right to "jump" the fence, however I do believe some really should be given a chance.

It proves you met and had sex ... doesn't guarantee a visa.
PS: A child is for life not just for a visa.
