Perhaps I didn't go into all the details. My wife visited (left the country afterwards) numerous times while we were engaged. One of those visits we decided to get married at the courthouse. She still returned to Canada for work. I went back to Canada a few months after for a marriage celebration for families and friends. Both of us then returned to the US together.
I filed the I-485 adjustment of status for her. Per my understanding from USCIS from all of my phone calls, prior to doing all of this was that it was 100% legal. Otherwise without knowing any better I would have gone the K1 route for my wife.
Perhaps I didn't clearly articulate this in my original post, my mistake.
Tdot how were you able to file the AOS if she went back to Canada to work? You may be confusing that for the CR1 visa.

If all else fails this is what we plan on doing! Thankyou, the most helpful post yet!
You are welcome. Keep us posted. I travel back and forth via Niagara Falls or Lewiston by vehicle all of the time and have had no issues crossing with my enhanced license.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I passed my citizenship interview two days ago and I'm scheduled for the oath ceremony next month, I'm a citizen of one of the banned countries. I'm here to answer any questions.
Congrats Sam. That is great news!!

Can the 2 of you meet somewhere in Canada? He wouldn't need to get a passport if he was driving over the border but would need to obtain an enhanced drivers license to enter Canada. He could not use it for air travel though.
These are the requirements for US citizens for an enhanced license:
- Proof of state residency. Depending on your state you will either need one or two documents of proof.
- Proof of U.S. citizenship.
- Proof of identity. In most cases, your current driver's license will suffice.
- A valid Social Security number.

What a small world. I loved living up there. I loved going to the Longo's at York Mills and Leslie as well as Whatta Bagel and Ikea. I miss shopping at Longo's and Ikea

You 100% sure she can't go w me?
Im confused cause letter says bring id and doesn't say bring your spouse like it said for our roc interview. But top of the letter with address showing both our names
Your spouse will not be able to go into the interview room with you. She will have to wait in the waiting area but it is good to have her there in the waiting room so when the IO comes out and sees you two together at least they will know that you have a legitimate marriage and you present a united front especially if they are questioning your marriage for citizenship.

We have black rat snakes living under our cabin and in the walls/behind the sink cupboard etc. You could never get rid of them all - we are in a cabin in the woods - more would just move in. We only see them about once a year in summer when they need to get a bit frisky and there's not enough room so they come out and 'do their thing' on the kitchen floor.
I was pretty freaked out the first time I saw them (British city girl who hadn't seen a snake outside of a zoo). But my husband who grew up on our farm just says "ignore them, they will go back in their hiding place in a minute"
They help keep the mouse population down too. All my UK friends think I am crazy and want me to come straight home each time I post pictures of the snakes.
This is their most recent appearance last summer.
I would move LOL.

I was disappointed that nothing was included in this skit about Dipping Dots. Apparently Spicer used to rant about DD on Twitter alot

He's never really needed anything more than that, since he lives in Toronto.
Holly where does your hubby live in TO? I used to live at Don Mills and Lawrence right off the DVP.

When I got my NY license it was a headache. I had to switch over from my ON license within 30 days from becoming a NYS resident. However, because I came in a k1 visa and was in the process of AOS, they would not issue me a NYS license as I did not have a valid GC. They were actually going to take away my ON license at the DMV until I insisted that they call someone at a branch in NYC. They finally issued a visitor license. That license had a visitor notation on it. It was so aggravating.
Then again I live in a super small town in which the DMV does not see many immigrants coming in from Canada.

Hey Spring that is great news. Take a deep breath, go through all of your paperwork and bring any additional paperwork that shows that you have combined finances with your spouse like current tax documents/bank statements and any other items that show you and your spouse have combined finances. When I went for my interview, the IO was most concerned about my current taxes..making sure that those were filed. If you and your spouse are able to file your 2016 return, I would suggest doing that before your interview as well as ensuring that any current outstanding (if any) taxes are paid.
Good luck, you have got this!!! Let us know what happens.
Oh and make sure that you brush up on the civics questions just in case they fire those at you again. Prepare for this re-interview like it is your first citizenship interview. Just be super prepared and maybe have your spouse go with you. Even though your spouse cannot go in it still shows a united front.
Hopefully, after this interview is over, the IO will tell you that you have been recommended for approval and that you should get your interview notification in the mail.

Don't worry bro, tell your wife to relax, if you have your application already in processing they will keep processing it, I got my interview on 31/1/2017 after the EO and i passed and got the approval and the N-445 notice for the Oath.
it is really stressful but officer told me for the current application they will keep the processing, not sure about new N-400.
best of luck all
Congrats and that is good to hear. I was wondering what was going to happen with all the N400 applications in process for those countries that have been banned since this BS came into effect. Fingers crossed that nothing changes from today to your oath ceremony.
I was going to delay my own citizenship last year but am so glad that I did not. I had a feeling that if Trump got elected that he would start screwing around with immigration.

This is beyond disgusting and this is exactly what I was afraid of if this POS got elected. It will only be a matter of time before he signs an EO to start banning other countries from entering as well

My now husband proposed while I was visiting the US - did I declare a ring on my finger? Hell no! They don't take pictures of your individual fingers when you come across the border back and forth and they'd have no way to say I didn't own it for an extended period prior to that. For all they knew, I had it in my suitcase when I crossed.
My short answer - propose in the US if you want to avoid declaring the ring and paying taxes and leave it at that. My ring has been on my finger for 11 yrs and hopefully another 50 before it comes off and gets passed to someone else.
I didn't declare mine either. I think that I used to hide mine in my shoe sometimes. I figured that the ring was bought in the states and the taxes were already paid on it and also that the ring would be residing back in the states when I moved there. Was it honest? Hell no

Just checking in to see if there have been any updates on your cases at all. Keep us posted

Danielle was off the charts cra cra this week. I hate to say it but I love what a trainwreck those two are. They make for great TV.
As spineless as Jorge is, he should send Anfisa back to Russia...bye bye Felicia
-
Hopefully Spring and Daqh get an early Xmas gift and find out that the oath ceremony has been schedule soon for both of them
-
Jorge is a tool. He's just needy and desperate. Anfisa is a narcissistic gold-digger, and pretty much worthless as a wife. But at least she's honest. She told him right to his face that she is only with him because he can buy her things. She could not have been any clearer. And his reply was asking how he can make her happy. If that were most of us in his place, we would leave her sitting there in that restaurant. So then he asked her a very telling question, that if something happened to him and he couldn't work and buy her those things, she would leave him. And again, she pretty much confirmed that she would. The next episode preview shows him begging her not to leave. Again, what a tool!
Danielle is the most deperate person that I have ever seen. I would have bet the farm that she would pull the annulment. Probably better for her anyway, cheaper. She can't keep the lights on, how is she going to pay for an annulment? And she's still clinging to the idea that they can be together. He even canvinces her that they can be "friends". But the moment she pulled the annulment, she will never see him again. And while pulling the annulment, she didn't fule a divorce thinking they could be together. My guess is that he will file first. She'll only see him on "social media", until he blocks her. And at the end, they showed how next week she goes to Miami to visit her friend and he won't take car calls and threatened to file a restraining order if she keeps harassing him. And at the end, she says in typical Danielle fashion.... "he lied"
I know why, but they choose these desperate, needs, moronic people. I guess crazy=ratings.
Crazy totally=ratings. I can't stand that grifter Anfisa. Her personality just angers me. She is a spoiled child who looks like a porn star. She needs to stop with the fillers and lip injections.
OMG Danielle is a complete loon. I have no sympathy for her and her crocodile tears.
This show is like a bad car accident that you keep want to rubbernecking at.

They did a remodel of Bayview Village awhile back. They put in a Pusiteri's (cha-ching expensive) there and whole lotta of other stores that are very high end
