I have no idea about Texas but I have sort of been involved twice now in this situation and in both cases there has been a massive difference in the School systems, and where you go can influence where you can go to as you work your way through the system. Reminds me of how a lot of Double Glazing was sold back in the day, well with a few tweaks. Now is the product good or bad, well good and most of us have it. It seems especially in CA I assume elsewhere that in their enthusiasm to go green, lower case as it is not really green you could basically use the grid as your battery, and they had very expensive electricity, so install panels and feed it back to the grid during the day and take full credit at night. So a lot of systems were sold with financing at no cost to the property owner due to financing, installer made money, finance company made lots of money and poor people who could not afford to play subsidized it. Now the cost of the equipment has plummeted, the grid gives you a very small credit and paying the installer and funding it does not add up. Install it yourself or with help, have a battery back up, now that does. Especially if you are paying nearer 50c a Watt not 15c where I am.
