Hi everyone! I am normally in the June '09 Filers Thead, but I've advanced to the "We want our interview" thread lol. Which brings me to yor fabulous forum ~waves to all~

Of course I come armed with a question (or 2) . We received our letter from the Embassy that they have the packet from NVC, so we are on to the next step to get his interview. I'm pretty sure I understand, but would like to be sure, So I'm here to ask you wonderful people.

1. Once we fill in these forms (DS-230, 156, 156K etc), we mail what they ask for with the checklist to the embassy and then they set up the date for the interview, right? and

2.Is it actually taking 3 months from the date we send in our forms to get the interview?

We go to the website and read the instructions on preparing packet 3 i guess it is.. that would be this one.. http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/iv/iv_15.html and it proceeds to direct you to duplicating forms (got that). but when you get to this DS-156? It tells you to submit it online.. at what point do they actually set you up an inteview? to the embassy to ge the interview?? Can anyone shed some light? This K-1 thread I tried to get an answer on another post didnt really tell me.. at what point do they set the interview.. when we send them something to do it?? And what do we send? We have the medical its going to the Embassy now..Help!! :argh: thanks guys!!

I felt like spending $16 this mornin and called US Embassy in London for an update. I'm glad I DID!! The embassy received our application from NVC on 10-6-09. The instructions to John were sent on 10-7-09, so he should have them any day now. I was a little disheartened when he said the interview may take 6 months to schedule but My hopes will remain high until we see that interview date!! Good Luck to all still waiting for their next step .

Hey, I'm in the same boat as you. My petition left NVC on the 22nd and still haven't heard from the embassy.

I think tracking the package via DHL is so frustrating since it involves a lot of guessing and estimation. Maybe you would want to try calling the Department of State instead to ask if the embassy has received your package. Call (202) 6631225 press 1 then 0. It worked for me and my fiance. The only sad part is that DOS told my fiance that we're already eligible to schedule an interview appointment but US embassy said we're not yet eligible.

Yep I got that too boo.. its wait and wait at this stage..... if the papers flow according to plan, John should get his packet by 10-14, with an interview schedule before 11-10 hopefully :-s.. He goes for his medical tomorrow yay!!!! GL to everyone!!

Mark got his packet 3 today! YEAH!!! One step closer! Wendy, I will keep my fingers crossed that John will get his soon!

I called the Embassy in UK on Wed, 9-30-09, they told me John should look to receive his packet within 3 weeks. So if He doesnt have it by 10-14, to call back then. *watches the calander*.. Medical is on Wed 10-7 woo hoo!!

That should mean that Mark should have his packet by that time also. I will have to call them by that date also if he doesn't get it. Thanks for calling the embassy to get the timeframe Wendy. Mark will be making his medical appt soon I think.

Just called NVC and they said I am out of Additional Processing. My package is being sent to the Lima Embassy today. That was more nerve wracking than the wait for the NOA2. Knowing that I had been approved and still having to wait. Good luck to everyone else.

Just called still in AP... Wendy did they ay that they had sent our file when you called NVC and talked to them? You can call them and they will tell you the date that it left... There are alot of UK folks in AP....

I am hoping my AP didnt have anything to do with going to court today... I bought a boat trailer a couple weeks ago and on the way home got pulled over for not having a tag and the lights didnt work.. The guy gave me a warning for the lights but wrote a ticket for the tag.. he said just go register it and take the registration to court and they will dismiss the case... So I went and paid the 60 bucks for the tag and 30 bucks for the lights and went to court with the paperwork 8AM... Thanks to the bad economy they dont dismiss anything anymore and the fees went up.. The ticket was 240.00 ... and then I get home to realize it was a criminal case.... 2nd degree misdimeanor... #######? I dont see how that could affect my petition for a visa but.. it was a crappy day to say the least... I was hoping they would say sent to consulate to cheer me up when I called NVC...

Our embassy wont answer the phone anymore... emails and snail mail only.. or go in person.

Hey Scott, when I called NVC they told me they sent my file, I had to reference my EAC number to get info. Mine went to UK Embassy on 9-25. damn hun,,, crappy day for sure... ummm usually charges take 3 months to show up on your motor vehicle record.. here anyway.. im in insurance and it's been that way for 30+ years. I don't want to advise wrong on the "disclosure" of this new violation (man that sux!!) so may wanna search for answers on "new" charges. I will post as soon as I know that UK Embassy has my packet... Hugs!!

Can someone tell me whats the difference between packet 3 and packet 4?

Here in Australia Packet 3 contains all the information the consulate wants from the beneficiary, packet 4 is the interview date and other information

It's the same in Egypt I guess.

Let me know if you hear anything from the consulate. Mark is heading here Nov 11-21 and we just know that is when his interview will get scheduled for. He will have to reschedule if that is the case since the plane ticket is non refundable. We are hoping to get him here around mid Jan for good. That way he can spend the holidays with his family this year. We have set the date for our wedding...March 6, 2010. Picked up my dress yesterday. Don't want to order invitations until he has the visa in his hand! LOL! Why tempt the fates! Good luck to us all and our significant others on their interviews.

Ooo oooo I sure will.. I'd ask John to call the Embassy himself.. but I'm worried he may not know what to tell them (sorry not dissen da men!!! he just gets easily excited ).. I am out for surgery 10-1 to 10-12, so I will have some "me" time and plenty of it, to make some calls .. We are getting there guys!! Hang in there!!

I emailed my embassy asking them if I could arrange to have my fiance pick up the packet and instructions..lets see if they get back to me...Im kind of worried about the efficiency of the Freetown embassy, they just started processing visas there after a 12 year hiatus after the civil war...lets see how it goes

I just picked up my packet 3 at a DHL branch! You can use that option too! I actually emailed the embassy many times requiring a change of address and they never replied me about it. I guess they only told me packet 3 was outta there ONLY cause I emailed them many times since our case was at NVC. The email was so off point. The only good thing about it is that I got to know they sent packet 3 out. I wonder if they're going to inform me when packet 4 is out too! I hope they do, but I highly doubt it....
