  1. You da Man!! It left NVC on 9-25, so will arrive at consulate hopefully by Wed :).. then a week or so for them to send stuff to John :D!!! Yay~!! uh oh.. i looked at London-UK website and they show 3-4 months to process the visa from NVC??? Oh Em Gee!! This can't be right (wahhhh) ... Someone give me some reassuring words lol...

You may have left NVC on the 24th or it may leave today.. DHL had no packages to the UK on Friday... Based on the VJ stats he should have his interview somewhere around the first week of December..

Oh thank you.... thank you!! I feel much better now... whew.. i got nervous.. :)

  2. Ok Scott, I got my NVC case number (what do I do with this?) lol and they said the packet went to US Embassy in London on 9-25-09. So I guess now I wait on the Embassy to let him know when to go and where, I've not been asked to provide any forms to anyone yet, jsut waiting on letters to arrive. Can I call the US Embassy in London to see if they have our case, and ask what is the status? Can my fience call since he's the one coming over and is in London?

I checked and nothing left for your consulate on the 25th.. Maybe in this afternoons shipment. It should be at the consulate by Wed... The consulate will send John the paperwork next.

  3. :ot: Cheers to all my fellow June VSC filers! Hopefully soon we'll be able to trade in our long-distance and skype bills for sweet kises and tender embraces from our loves! (And maybe I'll be able to kick my newly-developed supermarket romance novel habit as well . . . )

I just called the IRS to request tax transcrips and the NVC to check in, and NVC informed me that they forwarded our case to Buenos Aires Fri. Sept 25! This is exciting because Marcelo is Paraguayan, and even though he has residency in Argentina and lives in Buenos Aires, from what I understood there was no guarantee that they wouldn't make him get on a 16 hour bus to Asunción to do the whole thing in Paraguay (where his is today and tomorrow renewing his passport and picking up his police certificate--you can only do it in person there.)

Also, for anyone who is using an I-134 co-sponsor, I had no problems requesting my dad's tax transcripts for the last 3 years. I make just enough over the 125% mark in income, but I've only been back in the US/working for 3 months so my year-to-date income on the pay stubs is weak. Adding insult to injury, as a college student/year-out English teacher I've been a dependent for the last 3 tax years. Thankfully, my dad is happy to co-sponsor.

I can't wait to buy plane tickets!

Very Best of luck to you BOTH!!! :)

  4. Ok :)

Well I received an email from the embassy this morning that they sent out packet 3 this morning. They said nothing about my change of mailing address request (I sent a few emails and got no reply for the past week). So I sent them an email this morning asking which address they sent the packet to. I got no reply as usual! So I tried calling them all day.. Waited on the phone for 25 minutes, then 40 minutes, then 15 minutes and nobody even picks up

I waited a few hours then called DHL and told him the whole story in the beginning they refused to give me any info about the packet assuming I'm not ME lol.. Then they asked me about my full name, phone number, address and so on.. And then they told me that packet is being sent the physical address.. That means the embassy has been ignoring all my requests and the note we left with the I-129F!! Anyway, I fixed the problem with DHL over the phone and I'm picking the packet up myself tomorrow before going work... Now it seems like I can't reach anyone in the embassy over the phone lately, they haven't been replying my emails, and responding to my requests...

Do you think it's a good idea to attach a note in packet 3 with the mailing address or would that be off point?

Wow! You got an EMAIL from the Embassy??? :o I want them to email us with updates?? I couldn't find a way to do that online :((

My packet made it to the embassy today!

And before you say it Scott I did update my timeline, I just dont know how to make it show when I make posts lol

Woo hoo wtg YKJ - you can show it in your signature ;) that will have it show up here :)

  5. talk to the folks at DHL when you go to pick it up and tell them that the same thing will be happening again.... sounds like you get more feedback from the delivery service than all of the communication so far from the consulate... not surprised..

    Wendy,

You are calling 603-334-0700 tomorrow  and then when you get to the automated system select 5

Have his name and DOB ready along with yours and the EAC#... they will give you the consulate number and let you know if they still have it or if it left already...

Yes!!!! i will do this!!:thumbs: Thank you Scott!!

And I will be calling them again after 4 Monday...

  6. I have a somewhat silly question  When is the background check stage? Did we pass it already?

    *waving hi to Wendy* :)

    Hiiiiiiiii Aya!!!! *waves frantically!!*

I think the police certificate my be something of a background check too :) I am still waiting on the NVC letter :-ss

    :)

John received our NVC letter after the case reached the consulate! :D It might be cause of the mail not NVC.

I havent gotten the hard copy letter yet, I'm assuming its en route to the embassy and they will send me a letter advising the next step.. or do they send it to John.. i guess it would go to him.. i'm just riding the wave right now. GL on your next step girl.. I'm prayin for ya!

  7. I'm trying to Wendy... Still haven't received a reply back from Cairo consulate about my 'change of mailing address' request yet... NVC hasn't given John a DHL tracking number to track the visa and so now we know it must be in Cairo but is it in the embassy yet.. Still no reply... They only take calls between Sunday and Thursday just for three hours.. And they don't answer case specific questions over the phone anyway... And the NVC case number John got isn't working on the Cairo Consulate website 'yet', a lady from NVC told him the case probably is not in the consulate system yet... So here I am waiting, trying to have patience...

NVC will not give a tracking number... You can kind of track it by inputting CORRESPONDENCE in the reference field http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByRef.asp?nav=TrackByRef then 03801 as the Origin Postal Code. Then select the date they sent to Cairo and the day after as the date range... This should be enough for a list of deliveries.. then look for Cairo.. Yours is likley one of the ne or two shipments listed... You can track them, but can't be sure if 'your' paperwork is specifically in it.

I did it and the tracking numbers are 9211350245 and 9211351402 from the 18th and none from Monday the 21st.. so both of the files that left on the right date for your package are there as of the 22nd

You can go here and eneter those 2 numbers http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByNbr.asp?nav=Tracknbr

So your stuff has been there a few days now...

Scott I couldnt figure out how to get my tracking info from DHL :( can you help?

  8. Wendy you were right!!!! (its friday here in Australia)

Waaaaaaaahoooooooooo!!!!!!!! yess!!!!!!!! wtg Aya!~! Be Diligent and Patient!! :)

  9. Yeah - there's definitely something afoot here. LMB's experience makes me think this is now what they want done - but I guess we won't really know until the interview and whether or not there are any issues.

So here's the update. I went to the embassy this morning. Visa approved!!!

While I was there I noticed the DS-15xx forms were in my file at the top of the pile. These were obviously being used for this final part of the process. I was asked for photos and these were clipped to the forms.

This means the DS156 156K and 157 are still needed!

I would suggest anyone receiving packet 3 to make sure they go to this link: http://london.usembassy.gov/cons_new/visa/iv/iv_15.html

Follow these instructions AND the instructions on whatever weblink the embassy letter itself gives you, and send off all the forms.

Personally, I put a cover letter with my DS 15xx forms explaining that I thought there may have been a mistake in my original instructions on the packet 3 letter, and that I thought it best to send these as well, just in case.

    Seems to have worked anyway!

Whew John and I are next in line to face this, thanks for \the commentary, great info u guys!! Good luck on your journies!!

  10. I just picked up my police certificate and passport style photos a little than an hour ago. I'm going to pick up my university certificate on Saturday (the weekend in Egypt is Friday), and get both translated...

Still hasn't received a reply from Cairo consulate yet... We are running out of time, I need their answer to go from there...

I have a question guys.. John's dad is our cosponsor for the visa.. They both are a self-employees and they own the same business. Can they present joint tax returns or do they have to provide separate ones? I'm not quiet sure if I fully understood John's question, but if there is anything else they should present other than the two copies of I-134 they filled out and the joint tax returns please let us know..

I think you may want to call your consulate on that one.. :-s .. Hopefully someone else might have better response Good Luck Aya and John!! hugs!

  11. It's driving me nuts as well seeing the July approvals. I can feel for the Mar and April filers who are getting their approvals now.

I haven't had a touch since 06/26/09. Is that mean they haven't done any work on my case? Hopefully our's will be this week.

In any case I am happy that June filers will have their fiances here by Christmas. I just have to remind you all that I was the 1st to say that hehehe...

yeah i want to be there for xmas at least, Cindy's Birthday is 2 Dec, but getting there for that might be asking too much lol

Hang in there you guys!! it's coming!! :)

  12. OK, so now that we are approved what should we be doing?

Any ideas when we would possibly get an interview date for? What's all this NVC number and calling of embassy's?!?

    Oh my! lol

  13. Scott and Wendy,

See I told you guys I had a good feeling about this week for you guys!!!!! Let's keep each other company through the NVC and consulate process...especially you Wendy since our fellas are going to interview at the same consulate! Congrats! It is a GREAT feeling huh? I am still on cloud 9. Thinking about calling the NVC today to see if they have sent it off to the consulate yet. What do you guys think?

    Kim

You Bet Kim! based on the flowchart, takes about 2 weeks for the NVC to get a letter to us. I wure wish they did text notification and email notification too!! I wrote to them (NVC) a week ago (via email).. I'm going to let it hang there just see if i get a reply lol. It would be awesome if John and Mark go to the interview around the same time!! :) Here's to a speedy reunion for us both! :star:

  14. Just checked our status and we've been APPROVED today!!!

Still can't believe it as I was expecting no movement as usual. Gosh, NOW I feel nervous!

Hopefully, for those that are still waiting it won't be too much longer...........

    That's great news!! :star:

    Congratulations and good luck!!!

Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wtg u 2!! GL on your Journey!!

    grats!!!!!

    Tynx!!!

    Congratulations John and Wendy

    Thanks RK!!

  15. Wow, The sting isn't so bad when the approvals are before us... Those July'####### hard... In many respects I am expecting an RFE because I know they lost the extra paperwork I sent them.. Just know it.... That would be too easy to actually send them what they needed before they asked for it and there not be an issue...

Megan, I am surprised that you did not get the NOA2 yet... if you dont get and RFE in the next day or so you should see the NOA2.

Wendy, There are not many gaps ahead of you in June now... likely not far off at this point...

My son asked me last night, "Hey dad, what happens when you get down to number 15 or 10 on the list", My response was that I go nuts before I get to that point... and if I was one of those unlucky few in March that have not been approved and are no longer on the list because its outside of the processing dates.. that would really twist me up...

Scott, I remember you declaring to our post a few days ago.. that when you get to 100 on the Berk list, you usually get your NOA within a few weeks. I've moved to spot 93 on 9-17 and still keep thinking.. "I hope I don't get an RFE". I can't for the life of me figure out, how this process puts those who filed an NOA1 AFTER us, gets their NOA2 BEFORE us.. only USCIS knows for sure. Wits, what wits?? I lost sanity with hope, now I'm living on borrowed patience. If there's any justice in the Serenity Prayer, then He knows I need results soon to keep the faith!! :)
