Know the feeling..... I just made up 20 sections for folder 1 and two. Had my mother check them twice, having my boss check them tomorrow morning, and calling my lawyers to check them again tonight...Phew! My Mum (bless her heart) picked out two spelling errors and has been a superstar with helping me to chill out.....I hate paperwork!
The evidence bit is going a bit crazy for me, so much to print off and not so much time to do it! Also the fact we have like 5 photos total of us together (He hates photos....) I think may cause us problems??? Thank god I have Wednesday off to finish up...
One thing I am worried about is the fact I changed my hair colour and have recently lost a stone in weight and gained a lot of muscle... Hopefully it wont be a issue
I hope they understand and notice its the same person...Just thinner! It will probably make more sense since I put "Personal trainer/Nutritionist" on my future job prospects on one of the forms.
I'd like to get some input on how you categorized your folder. I've sent my packet 3 in and am waiting on the interview... or my fience is I should say lol. What kind of system did you use.. just form numbers... doc names.. i am afraid to separate the packets or I will get totally confused :-s lost n going insane.. truly...

Hey everyone! We have an interview date! Its Dec. 21st, and the medical is the 14th. We could have had it as early as Nov 14th, but I want Joseph to have enough time in the Philippines to get all of his paperwork together. I also want him to be with his family for Christmas... So, Hopefully we get our christmas gift early
A pink slip!
Great news Megan.. I am hoping we get that same date as well.. if not a few days earlier... I am going to call again this week and ask if it has been scheduled...
Congrads to you both.. Jos, Scott all our VJ'rs good luck!
-
Looks good to me Jewel... Im just waiting on our interview.. Good Luck to all in the holding pattern

Whew! had me worried lol tyty
I know what you mean, Wendy. A few moments ago I had a momentary freak out when the notarized tax return question was asked!
Guess it should come as no surprise that our minds are playing tricks on us at this stage of the game!
So much to remember!!
Best of luck to you as you head toward the finish! (of this part
)
I think my fience is more nervous than me at this time. I know we have to follow processes and I've read before that the UK is one of the easiest embassies to get your visa at. (better than Africa [for example] I assure you)
I agree with gmj on the necessity based on the request for interview forms. Take it all with a deep breath and one step at a time. Anytime you deal with a Government entity, they want paperwork! they want certifications! They want evidence and back up info! Even lawyers miss things, forget details and delay processes. Don't beat your self up over.. just remember. You are further along today than you were yesterday and all good things come to those who wait.
All my VJ buds have done a fabulous job of informing, detailing and carefully following the rules. With all this attention to detail, we prove our selves worthy of the love that awaits us as the reward. Stay strong, healthy and happy!

Hello fellow VJ'ers... I've read through lots of threads on here, and am finding conflicting information in regards to the AOS.
1.) We haven't yet gotten P3 (waiting on the London Embassy to input that they've received a hard copy of our file.) The electronic transmittal went through last week from NVC to London Embassy. From what I can gather, the links provided on VJ to the K1 packet 3 state that an AOS is needed. They don't, however, specify if an I-134, or an I-864, is needed. We're trying to be proactive, and gather the required documents to send in. So, question is... For the London Embassy, is an I134, or I864 required?
2.) The answer to #1 may shed some light on this one. If an I134 is required, are tax returns required? My income is well above the required 125% of poverty requirement. I'm providing a bank letter with all info required of it listed on I134, a letter from my employer listing my salary, and 3 most recent pay stubs.
Thanks in advance for everyone's help, if I've posted in the wrong forum, please move :-)
I may be jumping the gun here.. but I did I-134 regards to #2.. I sent last 2 years tax returns, letter from employer and stubs.. plus a letter from my bank showing balances and when acct opened. now that you show that.. im wondering if I should have done a I-864 instead or in addition too

Might be a silly question but who is the 'principal applicant who needs to complete form DS-156K? Is that me or my fiance Patrick (the petitioner)
Thank you
The way I think about it is that as the USC, I filed the K1 petition requesting that my fiance be allowed to file as an immigrant. The NOA2 was my approval. Now the file has been sent to London and he will receive a P3 letting him know what forms he needs. He will be filing for the immigrant visa when he fills out and sends in the DS forms. My part of this process, besides the I134, is complete.
I like the way you think....

So then, my question is, if we're "electronically" in the system, they are aware of us and we obviously have a case number that we got from DOS, so we can we go ahead with, say, the medical? Or does there have to be a physical file with our paperwork in it to put the medical results in? I always heard, go ahead with your medical once you're in the system. So, are we in the system?
Any thoughts or opinions on this?
Hi There! John had his medical on 10-7, it's good for a year so yea.. use the link on the website to set it up n git r done
-
Congrats Scott! Glad to hear you are almost out of AP!!
Wendy, Mark is sending his stuff to the consulate today. How long did John's police certificate take to get to him? Mark is sending his stuff off without actually having it in him hands. We are hoping his inerview does not get scheduled between Nov 11 ans 23rd since he will be here in the US with me. We are hoping to get him here by Jan 19th! I am planning to fly over and get him around the 13th or so. Glad this part of the journey is almost over!
Congrats to everyone that is almost done with this leg of the journey!
Kim
John's doing the same thing.. we sent off for it on 10-7, it is supposed to be here Wed or Thursday.. I will update post when we have it in hand (cert). we screwed up and sent the chklist alone.. so we are resending everything tomorrowvia courier due to the strike. chklist, 230, 156, 156K and 157 weeeeeee

I'm having the same problem. My doctor has nothing on record only a flu jab. My dr told me to call child health services as any jabs that you had at school will be recorded with them. However my authority only keeps records from the last 19 years and therefore have nothing on me. I rang the medical drs and they said it should still be ok and that at my medical they will discuss and determine if I have to have the shots again. They also said that if I do need them I can go back to my own dr for them and my dr will then have to fax thru to them written evidence of having had them.
I hope this helps but definitely call the medical drs if you have concerns, they put my mind at rest.
John got his medical and only had to get two shots to complete the requirements for the visa. He said he got 1 that covered tetanus, polio, dpt all in one and the flue jab. He also said.. my doc had a record but wasnt up to date now iv had those they gave me a record at the med said i was up to date now

Well IDK if this is true guys, the form (IV-15) you send in to get your interview...says do not send in any forms - just the checklist to verify you have the documents and you are told to bring them to the interview.. May want to double check that...
It means not to send in documents such as the police certificate, proof or relationship, birth certificates, etc.
The DS forms ARE REQUIRED to be processed prior to your interview date. The consulate must have the DS forms and the checklist so that you even qualify for an interview date.
I know the wording can be confusing sometimes, but they mean the documents you take to the interview, they are not talking about the DS forms. Must send in DS forms + checklist if you want an interview!
If you send in the checklist without the DS forms, you are partially done with the prereqs for the interview, they will hold on to your checklist until they get the DS forms to begin your processing for an interview date.
Same goes with people who may send in their DS forms without the checklist, they will hold on to the DS forms and wait for the checklist to give you an interview date.
You need DS forms AND checklist for getting an interview date, regardless if you send the forms first and the checklist later, the consulate must be in possession of both sets of documents prior to issuing you an interview date
Aww hell! (pardon my french).. ok well.. danggg.. we will send it Monday.. pray for Royal Mail support! Thanks Marm!

Your welcome and best of luck on finishing it up. I'm ready to be done!

hi all... quick question..
i sent the checklist in yesterday after setting up my medical date.. however I got confused since it says on the form not to send any documents so this is all I sent in. I take it from what I have been reading I should have included all of the DS forms with this??
Yes you should send in the DS forms, but not any supporting documentation like birth certificates, etc. It is ok if the checklist and the DS forms don't arrive together.

Hey Everyone! Soooooo Here is my story for today! Called DOS again because its Friday.. the woman said we have been elidgible to call for an interview as of 10/9 because Caracas electronically sent the packet to Manila! If i woulda known that ealier I would already have a date by now! This is crazy that we've been waiting this whole friggen time. I was under the impression (because everyone I've spoken to has said) tha we have to wait till the file physically gets to the embassy. UGhrrrrrr! Well, Ill be calling Manila tonight when they open and seeing if we can make an appt! Ill be so excited if I can actually have a date to look forward to! Fingers Crosssssssed!! for everyone!
Woo Hoo!! go get em Jos.. lets get that interview done!!
-
so when we get married, we send a request for all 3 at once?? right??
-
Then I presume we are all back here 2 years later for AOS.
AOS, as well as EAD and AP gets done as soon as you get married, then as we will all be issued with only 2 year grean cards we will need to apply 18 months after we marry to lift conditions so we can get the full 10 year green card
K1 flow chart;
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...amp;page=k1flow
AOS: Apply for Adjustment of Status; this will give you a 2 year green card.
EAD: Employment Authorization Document; this will allow you to work, comes faster then the GC
AP: Advance Parole; Allows you to leave the US and return, untill we get this if we leave the country we can not get back in >< and would have to apply for a new visa.
if you apply for all 3 at once, then they all come under the cost of the AOS. (read cheaper)
hope this helps
ohhhh ok i got that.. I think.. lets redirect in IM.. cuz this part seems confusing.. I guess its the same for any consulate or any beneficiary?

Hi Lion, yes - all DS forms go to embassy with the checklist that's how you get your interview date. Good Luck!!
Fabulous Post!!
Thank you!
