Interview was this morning..I was called in on my own and the officer just went over the the AOS packet asking me basic questions. After the interview I was told I would have the card in the mail in the next 2 week. My wife wasn’t interviewed which I thought was strange.
nothing is strange in USCIS bureaucratic World
congrats on your approval

Hopefully for both of us it just means that they misplaced the copy we included with our application!
That's interesting that you have three copies. Where I'm from, there's only one official copy--once you order a new one, the others are void. Regardless, I'm sure it'll suit their purposes!
In Morocco they go by the French system of a literal Family Book. Where the Book is held by the family and copy is at the county. So you can get an original document that is a copy of the extract if the birth record for like 25c. Translation from French/Arabic to English costs around $10

Same thing here, I got RFE from USCIS asking for foreign birth certificate, even though it was already included in initial package.
I am just going ahead and sending an original as I had three at hand

Hi Gang,
Here we go again. Uscis is driving me nuts. First, Illinois lockbox team rejected aos package, as I used an outdated form 😮
Now after I resubmited everything I get a yellow RFE from Lee Summit MO asking for birth certificate as it was missing. Urghh I swear I included an original with a translation.
I guess I got no choice but sending again. Anyone had same happen to them?
Should I call the misinformation toll free line?

I am seeing the same exact problem, as I downloaded the form to start filling it out
https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-485.pdf
The bottom of the form has 2017 as a date...where the top portion of the form has 2019. hmmmm
Yep. Gotta love how simple the immigration process is.
I will just send that one with OMB expiration of 06/2019 and bottom left of 12/2017

What about the i-765 ? they have a new edition now 🤷🏻♀️
I 765 wasnt the issue. The work permit form and travel document were not accepeted as they were tied to I485 that was rejected. it s like a package of sorts where I 485 is the parent
-
Exactly. Got no other option than resubmitting using what USCIS site has again urgh

Make sure the date youre looking at is the date on the bottom left.. thats what happened to mine. They made a newer version of the i485 with the same expiration date but the date at the bottom was not the same as the one they just renewed.
I used the form form uscis. Bottom still says 2017 which is edit time I am assuming

One or more of the forms you used is outdated. Check everything and submit everything all over again. Nothing else you can do honestly.
Nope all are current. I double checked before sending. Seems more someone is new at their job, or don't care much
-
Got a notice from Chicago's lockbox that the I 485 package is rejected due to outdated used form. Huh ? I loaded the latest form from USCIS with expiration date of 06/2019
How do I go form here?
Anyone had same nightmare?

Hi Berries,
Long time lurker here. I got an email from USCIS , and my heart almost stopped. My NOA1 was Sep 27,2017:
"Receipt Number: WAC1790XXXXXX
Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR ALIEN FIANCÉ(E)
Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity
On March 27, 2018, we approved your Form I129F, PETITION FOR ALIEN FIANCÉ(E)..."Good luck everyone
Congrats to the folks who got approved
@Naes I hope you hear good news soon

It s better to submit your latest tax return with I 134

Basically, Residents of Morocco can legally ask the banks to provide them with around $2000 per trip, and a mx of $4000 per year. Note that the bank will stamp this in the passport, and the customs/police may search him while leaving the country. If carrying excess amount of cash with no valid documentation, you ll end up losing the cash, and may miss your flight....
Good luck

MoroccanInTexas- Congrats on being a new US Citizen! And thanks for sharing about that here on VJ!
Wow, 6am is early. indeed! And it was too bad too, that you had to go back again because of their glitches. Oh well.
Nevertheless, good luck with the rest of your journey as a USC and good luck with your passport application too.
Ant
Thanks Ant. Indeed it was a long and stresfull journey. Oh well.
On another note, I applied for the passport at the regional agency in Dallas, as I am going overseas soon.
-
6:45 am? Wow - that is indeed bright and early - or actually, not that bright yet
! Congratulations - I'm glad they were able to work around your schedule.
Well, I attended two oath ceremonies. one last week at 8:30 AM, and one this week at 6ish. I guess USCIS did not wanna let me go my merry way.
Indeed the officer was nice, and worked around my situation, even though I did not receive the new oath letter yet.
Thanks all for the warm wishes
Good luck

I had an early bird oath today @ 6:45 AM in the Irving, TX office. It was long and stressful journey. My initial oath ceremony was scheduled for 04/02/2010. However, on that day, after going through the whole process, and before taking the oath. The officer said couple of candidates can not take the oath due to a glitch in the system, and that we will have to come back grrrrrrr.
I got a call from the officer, and he was nice enough to accommodate my job and travel circumstances. I had the oath a week after my original date.
Proud US Citizen
Good luck everyone

September 2018 AOS Filers
in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports

We got to USCIS office in Irving, TX 30 minutes before appointment. By the time we went through security, and checked in it was interview time. The place was packed, but the office seemed organized. 30 minutes later we got called in by the officer.
She took us inside, and checked paper work. she then asked if we have any updated documents/joint assets we want to share. (I offered the latest IRS return, and couple of bills).
Officer then started asking how we met, and other I-485 questions (Are you a spy? Illegal gambling etc...)
The whole thing lasted about 10 minutes, and afterwards Officer said Congrats Y'all should expect the 2 Year Card within 4-8 weeks. When I asked if we can get a temporary Green Card Stamp in Passport, the officer said that we need to have urgent circumstances for that, and ask for an Info Pass.
Overall a Positive Experience, and a very professional Officer.
Good Luck Y'all
