They have the shots available at the clinic in London. You can check their prices here  https://visamedicals.co.uk/united-states/  Scroll down to find shot prices.

Here are the shots needed for 19 through 59 years of age:
Td or Tdap - Tetanus/diptheria/pertussis or get DT, DTP or DtaP and it will be accepted. The latest shot must be no longer than 10 years ago or you need a booster. In the UK they will give Revaxis which is Tetanus/diphtheria +polio. Adults don’t need polio for immigration but that’s the combo available in the UK. They don’t have a Tetanus and diphtheria only jab like Adacel given in the US.   MMR - (if born in 1957 or later)-Mumps/measles/rubella.  It's two doses in your life, but if you get the first dose, and 4 weeks haven't passed by your medical, they will waive the second dose for "insufficient time interval". If you only had one dose as a child, get a second one before the medical. Varicella - Not routinely given in the UK. A history of having chickenpox excuses you from the shot. They take your word for it at the visa medical exam. They will also waive the shot in the UK for "not routinely available".  Influenza - Required during flu season only, October 1 through March 31.  If your medical is not during flu season, you don't need it.  Hepatitis B - required for all applicants up to 59 years old.  COVID-19 vaccine - Completely vaccinated with the primary doses. (Boosters have not been added to the requirement yet).

Your husband will fill out an I-864 as required by law, even if he doesn’t qualify. His income needed is based on his household—a household of 4.

Mom can be a joint sponsor and fill out an I-864. She is only sponsoring you. Her income needed will be based on her household plus you. So if it’s just Mom, then household of 2—Mom plus you. Or maybe it’s Mom and Dad plus you—a household of 3.

The US citizens do not need to be sponsored.

There is some incorrect information in this post.

NO- “and when it asks for your income, or if you have any W-2's you have none, so nothing to enter, so your part of the return is really easy as you are just " Along for the ride" per say.”

You may file a joint return, but if you do, any income you earned in your foreign country must be reported. The tax it would accrue can be exempted but it is not a total ”free ride”.  It is usually the better ride however.

NO— ”but as he was supporting you since you couldn't work without EAD approval HOH ( Head of household) could be more beneficial( depending on how long you were here last year)”

Head of Household Filing has to have a qualifying person (usually child) they support. The wife that is supported does not qualify. And if you (wife) lived in the house during the last six months of 2019, Head of Household is not an option.

The IRS says if you want to file a joint return, then you must report worldwide income earned by both people. That means US earned and UK earned.

Form 2555 is where you calculate the exclusion
    Instructions https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i2555.pdf
    Form https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f2555.pdf

It’s a long form covering many things but the part you will have filled in is pretty minimal. It is only calculating how much of her income is eligible to exclude. It’s going to be all of it unless she was earning well over $100k.

If you feel like tackling taxes and learning the process,  then buy a TurboTax cd or download from Amazon is what we do. Once you learn taxes, it gets easier. And this first year with foreign income is more complicated than next year because there’s the extra form.  Next year will have no foreign income and you may be able to use a free tax program online and efile as well. If you live in a state with a state income tax, then you need TurboTax Deluxe Federal with State, around.$39. Seven states have no state income tax and can purchase the Federal software only, around $29. That’s the program I am familiar with and can help with. There are other software programs as well but can’t help with.

Publication 519 tells you on page 9 what should be included. It’s up to you to compose it.
    How To Make the Choice
Attach a statement, signed by both spouses, to your joint return for the first tax year for which the choice applies. It should contain the following information.
    • A declaration that one spouse was a non- resident alien and the other spouse a U.S. citizen or resident alien on the last day of your tax year, and that you choose to be treated as U.S. residents for the entire tax year.
    • The name, address, and identification number of each spouse. (If one spouse died, include the name and address of the person making the choice for the deceased spouse.)

    Ours was like this
    ———————

Statement: Nonresident Spouse Treated as a Resident

We declare that on the last day of tax year 2019:
    • Mary A. Jones was a U.S. citizen
    • John J. Jones was a nonresident alien
    • Mary A. Jones and John J. Jones are married.

We choose to be treated as U.S. residents for the entire tax year.

Tell your CPA so he can report it. It will be on Line 7 of the 1040 with your income...all lumped together. It's required if you file jointly. And any interest she may have earned from investments in 2017. Your CPA will know about the foreign income exclusion to deduct the amount of tax her income would generate. If he doesn't, then he's not worth the money.

Your form will be 1040. Plus other forms and schedules depending on the nature of your income,

No. The USCIS Interviewer is not going to audit your taxes. He is not an IRS agent or CPA. He won't know if your tax return was done properly or not. Not his job.

Mine was just an orderly stack (75 total pages) with no cover letter, holes, contents, tabs, or clips. I put the stack in an old folder to squash it down to more easily slide it into the cardboard USPS Priority mailer. Very minimalistic and approved with no RFE, no interview, no issues. I think the presentation is not as important as most think. Contractors open the mail and USCIS officers do not see your efforts.

You will be taxed when you withdraw money if it is similar to an IRA. We report only the amount paid to us during the tax year, nothing on the balance left in the account.  When you withdraw, you may have to make some quarterly  estimated tax payments yourself since no US tax will be held out of the check you receive.

Separate from income tax are two reports that are filed when there are foreign financial accounts. FBAR when you exceed $10,000 held in foreign accounts. FATCA (Form 8938)  when you exceed $100,000 in foreign accounts.
    These are only reports....no tax.

Let's talk reality. The reason (most) people get all caught up in bringing proper documentation is so their visa will not be delayed. The wait has been long , they start acting like one more day is a month. They want to head out the day after the visa arrives.  If you just get your head around the fact that you may not beat the record of the fastest from NOA2 to POE, it may take the stress off. Build an extra month or so into your mental timeline just in case you have to have another appointment. It may not even happen.  Don't let dates you must be together like Valentines, birthdays, the anniversary of meeting, the desired wedding date, etc set up deadlines for you. They are just dates that will roll around again and again. Tell yourself and your friends who constantly ask, "When is he coming?" that you are guessing April. Then if it happens in February, it's a bonus. There is no doubt he will get here. Having perfect documentation on the day of the medical is not a pass/fail situation. It just means you may cross the finish line sooner than the one who is asked for something additional. Both are winners.

You don’t have to repeat all your childhood shots. All you have to get are the ones age appropriate for adults. Take the red book. It used to be accepted at the clinic. See what your GP will give you free from the list below. Some won’t do free for immigration, others do. The flu shot in the UK is for young children and seniors so your GP won’t give that, but the US requires it. You can go to a travel clinic, Boots, or clinics in stores. Get a written record. Or pay the visa clinic on the day.

Yes, get that police certificate ordered. That could have been done before NOA2.
    Yes, get immunizations needed.
Yes, get the health summary print out from your GP.
All that is needed for before attending the medical. GPs and NHS are notoriously slow at helping so get that lined out first.

    Yes, send the I-134.

DS-160 can be done because it just sits on a server somewhere to be accessed at your interview. Nobody reads it or acts on it when you submit it. It simply hangs out "in the cloud" until interview day. Be sure to save the confirmation of submitting.

London is very chill on the I-134. The officer may not even bring it up with you after glancing at it. One proof of income will do it so don’t feel like you need a bunch of ways to show income. They don’t even require a tax return/transcript for a K1 I-134.if you provide other proof.

Doesn’t matter. Don’t try to fix.

You don’t need headed paper. Skip the bank statements unless he has no job and you are showing a savings account to qualify on assets.

You don’t need the accounts so ease your worries about addresses. You have proof of income without those.  London doesn’t follow the instructions either. Not a big deal. Later when you do adjustment of status with USCIS, you will have another affidavit of support—I-864. It is strict. Read and follow those instructions.

Yep. Pay slips or the W2 would be a good companion piece to show he actually accepted the contract and is actively employed there.

Your London interview is going to be WAY easier than you are imagining in your head.

If you were here a full 24 hour day, every day in November and December and every day this year you may have just reached reached 183 days to be a resident alien for tax purposes.  [(30+31)/3] + 164

If you feel confident certifying on the W9 the following, then go for it.

Under penalties of perjury, I certify that:
    1. The number shown on this form is my correct taxpayer identification number (or I am waiting for a number to be issued to me); and
    2. I am not subject to backup withholding because: (a) I am exempt from backup withholding, or (b) I have not been notified by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) that I am subject to backup withholding as a result of a failure to report all interest or dividends, or (c) the IRS has notified me that I am no longer subject to backup withholding; and
    3. I am a U.S. citizen or other U.S. person (defined below); and
    4. The FATCA code(s) entered on this form (if any) indicating that I am exempt from FATCA reporting is correct.

The bank is required to gather this info. If you swear to the above, then  it’s on you and not them. They should be fine that they have done what the government requires of them.  It’s probably not going to make a huge difference as to what form you have on file. They have to hold back 30% of the interest that account pays a nonresident to submit to the IRS as income tax. As a resident, they wouldn’t hold any out.

So for example my checking acct has $7545 in it today. Assuming my balance is around that all year, at the end of a year, I would earn $1 interest at my bank. If I was a foreigner or non-resident alien, they would hold out $0.30 to send off to the IRS toward possible taxes.  Thirty cents is not something I need to sweat. If you have have a bigger account or a higher rate of interest, you might have a more held out. But when you file taxes as a resident,  if they held out too much on a W8BEN, it would be refunded by the IRS.

So yes, you can certify you meet the W9 requirements, but it wouldn’t be a huge priority to do it today because it probably isn’t impacting you much unless you have a $100,000 cd invested and they held out $13-14 in a year. 🙄

London has accepted scanned copies for others. His printer paper will be smaller (A4 instead of 8.5x11) so he’ll have to work that out.  Or you still have time to mail it snail mail to the UK. I wouldn’t pay for Fed-Ex or fancy handling…just a postage stamp. If it doesn’t arrive, you still have the scanned copy plan. The I-134 is all you need to provide for his interview. The rest is his personal documents for the medical and the interview.

Yes, the W2 can be the proof of income you turn in with the I-134. That would suffice for a London K1 interview. If you are also providing a 2021 tax return, then you can use the “total income” line on Form 1040. (Line 9).

Forms don’t actually expire. The date on the top right shows when it must be reviewed —
    OMB No. 1615-0014
    Expires 2/28/2021

That is the Office of Management and Budget form number. They have a number for all government forms and review all forms every 2 years. Their date for review deadline was 2/28/2021. They will publish a review period where the public or agencies can make comments. Then they make changes or keep it the same based on their review.  Eventually the form will get a new OMB date showing when it’s next review happens.  You are always safe using the form posted on the USCIS website.

Thanks for that timeline. When you get an interview date, you can make your visa medical exam appointment. Then if you are getting shots at the GP (or Boots etc) plan them for about 3 weeks before you have the Visa exam. Then any other Hep doses would be waived for “insufficient time interval”. The Hep B doseing is complicated. The chart says 2, 3, or 4 doses. It depends on the brand you are given. Get one of any brand then get additional waived as explained above. You don’t have to finish the dosing ever. Anything you are missing can also be given at the visa exam for an additional fee..

Furthermore, you provided what appear to be foreign passport pages with stamps, but you did not provide a copy of the passport bio page which precludes USCIS from identifying who the passport page belongs to..."
