  1. if it was approved on september 30, it was more than likely not sent the same day i don't think USCIS has ever sent a case to the NVC the same day. but yes at the very least you will have to wait 30 days. or check the NVC time frames and contact them based off that https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html I see on the time frame it says they are working on cases that they received on Nov. 29. if yours was sent on the 15th, giving about 7-10 business days for the mail to get there (since USCIS still sends I-129f cases via post) you could try contacting them now to see if they have it. being the end of the year, and also an upcoming administration change, USCIS and the NVC are more than likely receiving an influx of cases. Slowing everyone's case down. the NOA2 is a copy paste for everyone and they aren't going to update it really to keep current with actual time frames. someone a few weeks ago was told by NVC through email to wait 60 days after their case was sent to the NVC to contact them again.
  2. have you tried going back to the SSA office and have them tell it to you verbally? thats what we ended up doing when USPS didn't deliver his (that was an issue with USPS at the time, it ended up coming in the mail about 3 weeks later, 2 weeks after it was supposed to) we waited 2 weeks from the day we applied to go back in and ask for it. assuming you only need the number for the marriage license, and they don't need to see the physical card?
  3. I assume you are referring to the section on page 6? under other information about your beneficiary? starting at 38.a, you only fill out that section if the beneficiary (your fiance) is currently in the united states at the time of filing. so no, you can put "N/A" for sections 38.a - 38.h that is what we put for my fiance as he was not in the US at the time of filing, but he had visited multiple times before.
  4. your fiance should have received a form DS-3025, Vaccine Documentation Worksheet, showing that she received all required vaccines from the doctor who did her medical. she would have gotten this at the end of her medical it is best practice to send a COPY of this form along with the adjustment of status packet. but yes, the I-693 is not required for K-1 visa holders if filing the AOS packet within 1 year of the medical exam date. The envelope that she gave to border patrol at her POE had her medical in it, that information gets sent to USCIS, so they should already have it. sending a copy of the DS-3025 is just to show that she did complete the medical. cause sometimes it can get lost between border patrol and USCIS if she didn't get this form, she can try contacting where she had her medical to see if they can email her a copy of it
  5. https://do.usembassy.gov/fiancee-visa/ "Some visa applications require further administrative processing , which takes additional time after the visa applicant’s interview by a consular officer.... Most administrative processing is resolved within 60 days of the visa interview. When administrative processing is required, the timing will vary based on the individual circumstances of each case." looks like admin processing can take up to 60 days at that embassy. **and every case goes through admin processing after the interview you could also try using their visa navigator to try and contact someone https://do.usembassy.gov/visa-navigator/ if you do that just make sure you click "nonimmigrant visas" when it asks.
  6. which embassy was their interview at? some embassies have longer processing times after interviews also verbal approvals don't necessarily mean definite approval. there is still administrative processing that it has to go through before final approval.
  7. the 5 year rule does not apply in your case, as you said she has had her green card for almost 10 years in my opinion, chances are she will not be asked about it since you never married your ex-fiance and since how she got her green card in the first place had nothing to do with you but yes you also have no legal obligations to your ex-fiance since you never married and didn't continue the immigration process with them
  8. the letter from the NVC will go to the beneficiary (foreign fiance), this letter has your new case number for the embassy but either of you can contact the NVC to get your new case number, but you typically have to wait 30-45 days after its been sent to the NVC before contacting them
  9. page 8 is for the foreign fiance nevermind, thats wrong. the section is for the petitioner (US citizen). if it were for the foreign fiance, it would have said Part 2. Information About Your Beneficiary (continued) not Part 3
  10. yes the NVC is a section of the DOS
  11. definitely don't worry about it. just attend the interview. but you're right, if they needed something else they would have contacted you. but I believe it still saying refused is normal. the next update (if the interview goes well) would be to "issued" just take some deep breaths, you got it. Good luck!
  12. that is correct USCIS hasn't sent it to the NVC yet. your case status will say "Your case has been sent to the Department of State on xx/xx/xxxx" when it is sent to the NVC from there you will have to wait probably 45 days from the date its sent to contact the NVC if you haven't heard anything
  13. it shouldn't be a problem. consular officers can/will extend the validity of a petition at the time of interview. as long as the consular officer doing the interview believes that you both have the intent to marry within the 90 days, you should be fine. I would suggest printing a new Intent to Marry letter with an updated date and signature to send along with your fiance to her interview. my fiance went to a different embassy. but our NOA2 expired on July 4th and his interview wasn't until July 9th. they didn't question that expired NOA2 and he was approved
  14. the woman who helped us at the SSA office in Michigan told us 7-10 business days
  15. i believe the automated message comes no matter what you put in the subject line. putting a specific subject line just gets it to the right section of the embassy. so she should get an actual response if it was sent with the right subject line. **the correct subject line is provided in the packet 3 letter. she can request it be emailed if her packet has been at the embassy for more than 30 days and she hasnt received packet 3
  16. have you tried in another browser? In Firefox i would say about 98% of the form is able to be filled out, at least for me it is anyway. in Adobe Acrobat some of the options only become possible to fill out once you answer the question beforehand. I would also check to make sure all updates for either program are downloaded and installed. but if there are boxes that can't be filled out cause they don't apply to you (i.e Part 1 Number 37, have you ever been previously married and you answered no.) they can just be left blank or you can hand write in N/A. People will write in answers as well as type in answers and it isn't an issue.
  17. just posting an update for any one who was interested. only waited about 10 minutes after our appointment time, and it only last about 10 minutes. The lady seemed slightly confused but took my fiances I-94, passport, and the SS-5 form. and after asking him a few questions (have you ever gotten a MI state drivers license or ID card, ever applied for state benefits) told us everything was good and he would get his card in the mail in 7-10 days. was much easier than my anxiety lead me to believe lol
  18. well I got a call back much sooner than I was expecting and I asked "Do I need an appointment to get a new SSN?" And the woman on the phone said yes, and then asked who it was going to be for. I told her my fiance who is here on a K1/fiance visa. And she was able to make us an appointment. And we got incredibly lucky that the Flint SSO had an appointment available for tomorrow (when we were planning on going anyway) so it worked out (so far anyway lol)
  19. Hello all, My fiance arrived in the states on November 5th. We are going to the SSO tomorrow (November 19th) to apply for his SSN. We went based off the information that we needed to wait at least 2 weeks to go in and apply, which it seems like it really isn't the case anymore? but I guess it doesn't matter in our case anymore. anyway, my confusion is whether or not we need an appointment for this? I've called the number on the SSA site to make an appointment, currently have my number waiting in queue as the wait time is over 40 minutes. I tried to call the office directly and also was met with an insane wait time. I guess this question pertains to the SSO in Flint, Michigan. For those who have dealt with this office specifically, did you need an appointment for getting an SSN on a K1? Or where you able to make an appointment while there? or should we be able to walk in without an appointment? For how much they push using the ssa website for things you'd think making an appointment would be a lot easier. We are still within the 75 days of the I-94 validity (the 75 day mark is about 1/19/2025). But am trying to get his SSN before the end of the year.
  20. K1 processing has slowed down significantly. people are waiting 2-3 months more after approval for their petitions to be sent to the NVC. and from there it still has to get to the embassy. and if im not mistaken, Montreal handles the interviews for most if not all family based visas for canada. which would also slow down the timelines. at this point the timelines for the CR1/IR1 and the K1 are not that much different.
  21. As the person above said, it goes automatically to the embassy for whatever country the beneficiary lives in. since your fiance lives in cyprus, the embassy in cyprus no longer processes immigrant visas. There are several embassies that have consolidated their immigrant visa processes to Frankfurt. Including fiance visas https://cy.usembassy.gov/immigrant-visas/
  22. the form itself can be filled out by typing in a PDF editor (like Adobe Acrobat). But you can always fill things out by hand in black ink if need be. Just need to be sure that it is neat and legible. From the I-129f instructions, you cannot type out the signature, it has to be hand written in black ink "You (or your signing authority) must properly complete your petition. USCIS will not accept a stamped or typewritten name in place of any signature on this petition" https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-129finstr.pdf
  23. the evidence my fiance brought with the I-134 was dated for march (employment letter and bank letters) and pay stubs went 3 months back starting from march and his interview wasn't until June. I don't believe it was an issue at all. they didn't even ask for the letters or the pay stubs. only the tax return transcripts
  24. thats right. why they choose to use the word "refused" will never make sense to me lol but refused basically just means that your case needs additional administrative processing, which would be them waiting to receive the documents your fiance sent. any further instructions should/would be sent directly to the intending immigrant, your fiance.
  25. using the case number provided by the NVC or the embassy, it should be listed on the letter your fiance received from the embassy, it would read as GUZ or GZO followed by a string of numbers. You can use that to track it. it should say "Ready" on the tracker. Just meaning the embassy has received it. If you do check, make sure you switch the drop down to immigrant visa. https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=NIV since every embassy is different, their processes aren't always the same. More than likely if the embassy requested documents be sent to them, they will either email or send your fiance another letter telling him how to schedule his interview as well as his medical exam. so he probably cant make any appointments until then
