  1. intent was determined at POE, circumstances change. however, you cannot work in ANY capacity in the united states without a work authorization. regardless of if it is a US based company or not. your fiances uncle is incorrect. i am not very knowledge about the circumstances of adjusting in your circumstance, so i will leave that to others.
  2. like with the date? yes it would be on the label they put on the package
  3. that would be actually ridiculous if they did especially since there was no warning of another updated form fingers crossed you'll be fine lol
  4. you will probably be fine it was post marked before they made the update
  5. the I-134 (the affidavit of support) is not legally binding like the I-864 that is submitted during AOS. so he wouldn't be on the hook for her at this point the I-134 is just a statement of intent to financially support an non-immigrant
  6. court marriage would be the cheapest, easiest, and quickest. would need at least 2 witnesses. we ended up doing a very small ceremony. just hired an officiant to meet us somewhere (can literally be anywhere, we used an empty meeting room at the place i work LOL) was just my family who came, took about 20 minutes. and then we went to dinner afterward. I ordered a dress off Amazon, my husband already had a suit. I used a website called theknot to find an officiant. has everything that one would need for a wedding if you didn't want to try and plan a ceremony some officiants will literally just meet you somewhere and sign the license for you (and do all the legal stuff as well of course) but still need the 2 witnesses as well.
  7. ive heard that a lot of embassies (not sure which) will accept a police certificate as long as it is less than 2 years old regardless of whatever expiration date is on it. but i'm not 100% sure
  8. it depends more on the country than the embassy a majority are valid for 2 years but according to the Norwegian police website (i assumed this was for Norway) theirs is only valid for 3 months https://www.politiet.no/en/english/police-certificate-of-conduct/police-certificate-of-conduct---apply-online/ "A police certificate of conduct is valid for three months only." also assumed the police certificate of conduct was what you were requesting from them
  9. USCIS would be your best bet i think they have a tip form https://www.uscis.gov/report-fraud/uscis-tip-form
  10. yes the address is whichever lockbox you are sending it to and yes your fiances letter of intent will have the same address on it
  11. you could just use to original letter of intent, just update the date on it. will also need any police certificates, birth certificate, divorce certificates (if applicable), 2 US passport style photos, and any additional evidence of the relationship (may or may not be asked for, but good to have. like photos and stuff) and don't forget the evidence for the I-134. tax return transcripts, W2s, employment authorization letter, etc. your embassy should send you some kind of letter telling you exactly what you need to bring to the interview once they receive your case from the NVC, as every embassy is different. but those things are pretty standard.
  12. since you will have to use page 12 for this, you can include a short explanation regarding the addresses, that you were in college and were moving back and forth between semesters
  13. my suggestion would be (using example months for the college stuff): parents home: 2020 - 2024 (or if you were living there your entire life before college, put your birth year as start date, otherwise leave as 2020. I put my birth year and it wasn't an issue) dorm 1: march 2020 - may 2020 apt 1: march 2021 - may 2021 apt 2: august 2021 - march 2023 dorm 4: august 2023 - february 2024 current address: march 2024 to present and just make sure the dates line up for when you left your last dorm, to when you moved back in with your parents, to when you moved to your current address, i.e: dorm 4: 8/1/2023 - 1/1/2024 parents home: 2020 - 3/1/2024 current address: 3/2/2024 - PRESENT that is personally what I would do, others may have a better idea.
  14. if the date is correct overall, you're probably fine. if USCIS sees it as a big issue, they will probably just send you an RFE to correct it
  15. 1.unfortunately it is not included anymore. however ,the fee is reduced some if you file the I-765 in the same package as the I-485. so the I-765 is only $260 instead of the $550. 2. the physician who did the exam should have given you a copy. if they didn't you should be able to contact them to get a copy of it.
  16. have you considered going the spousal visa route? timeline isn't much different than K1 right now.
  17. i just checked our case number and my husbands biometrics where scheduled as well! that's what we're hoping for too lol true but its just nice to know ya know lol
  18. only montreal processes K1 visa. your spouse will have to go there. "K visas are issued in Canada at the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal." https://ca.usembassy.gov/fiancee/
  19. got both NOA1s today, before the access codes. can't even ask emma since no one is there on the weekend 😭
  20. Ahh ok MFJ was fine then. Yours was much easier since she had no income to report lol If you didn't mark her as NRA, no I don't believe so, you can just file normally.
  21. Since she has a SSN she doesn't have to be marked as a nonresident alien. You can considered her as a resident alien for last year only for tax purposes. But you have to include all foreign made income. So if she worked last year you have to include it. We ended up paying someone to do our taxes cause it was too confusing lol
  22. Once you have the NVC case number, which is the number you will use from now on, it can be tracked here https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=NIV This will tell you when the NVC sends your case to the embassy, it will show as "in transit". And when it arrives at the embassy it will eventually update to "ready" For k-1 visas you change the drop down to immigrant visa. You can typically contact the NVC through the public inquiry form between 30-60 days after USCIS has said that they have sent your case to the Department of State. You can see that status through your USCIS account if you set one up, or using their case status tracker.
  23. NOA2 is the petition approval from USCIS. At that point USCIS sends it to the NVC and then it gets sent to your embassy. Them processing it can still take some time. You probably still have a few months
  24. If you filed the i-765 at the same time as the i-485 (ie in the same package) the i-765 fee is only $260, not $520
