Congrats!
I am hoping that happens to me, I have never had any touch not even after biometrics. NEVER...so frustating I need money.
-
I received 3 originals and only sent them the photocopy with mine...
It says a specifically a copy for the 485. And bring an Original to the Interview....
Do you think I will get a RFE for that?
-
Wow, I cant imagine how frustrating that must be for you. I love to travel as well, and this is killin me.
Hang it, we will make it
Parul and Steph,I was thinking I'd contribute into the topic
We all seem to be in the same boat
My husband and I have been working international for the last 3 years (before coming here). We love travel and it pays well. Sacrifise had to be made for me to be able to come to the U.S. We both turned down contracts overseas and came here to finish the process.
Well, besides the fact that we had to move from 2 incomes to 1 with U.S. cost of living, me being bored out of my mind (feeling so useless at the moment) I realised that once I am a permanent resident - it's not the end of the story. Should have done my "homework" better, I guess my own fault but it wouldn't change a thing either way.
I can't just come and go to move on with my career, there will be re-entry permits involved and so on. What a pain in the ***
Michael turned down job overseas again because of me, until I am back on my feet at least and it's just driving me crazy.
They first wouldn't let me in and now they are not letting me out!!! While all I wanted was to be able to come home with my husband to spend holidays, visit family etc.
I spent a couple of hours going off about this last night and drove him crazy
BTW I honestly think people like Parul (wives of US soldiers active duty) should have benefits, this would at least be fair!!!
Ohhh...
I have 2 dogs as well. Wouldn't live w/o them....
What kind do you have?
I have a jalopy old Subaru that I take them around in...I want a jeep but till my butt makes money no sir..
(is looking for a suburban for me on the internet at work just coz I said I am not too comfy driving a sports car with 2 dogs to take care of too).wow, you guys must really be able to afford a lot, what with a $4/gallon gas-guzzling suv and 2 dogs...
I wish
... we will get rid of the other car since he won't be here for 1+ year. The 2 dogs are the reason we need a bigger car (besides I am like 4' 11" tiny and the thought of driving a BIG SUV is so appealing
)

Parul,
I hear you, I snapped as well last night. I wanted to grill and the neighbor borrowed the gril and drained the propane tank and I was not happy. My Hubby is like " well lets not get negative" I just lost it. Told him not to tell me how to feel. Poor Man
I really need my EAD as well, my hubby owns real estate company and lets just say its getting tight finanacially and with my experience I could get a very well paying job. I really hope there are no hccups.
Prayers for us all....For good news.
-
Nothing on my end AT ALL. Not even after biometrics...
No touches, no emails.
I am trying to thing positive that I will walk to the PO Box and there will be my EAD card...but sometimes the negative thoughts get in.
Oh well, its not the end of the week yet.
I've got my fingers crossed and positive thought waves going out to us all

txladycat is correct.
I typed a whole long reply and my comp stalled and I lost it.
I am a certified Personal Trainer and working on Nutrition and weight management cert as well.
What she said is exactly right. Like her I would be more than happy to help you with anything as well.
Its my passion.
(I really hope I dont offend anyone here): BUT did you know that 85% of the US population is considered overweight?
And the sad part is about a 3rd of that are children.
-
No Danielparul,
You are not, and if you are so am i. Everytime I go out to do errands I come ask my hubby if he saw the mailman yet today. LOL.
-
Evan and Asolana,
So sorry to hear. By best wishes to get eveything corrected. Did you get the RFE in the mail or by email?
I have had no touches, no emails, no updates. I am wondering if i am going to get an rfe today in the mail.
Its quite discouraging at time eh?

Hi there.
I renewed my passport last August and it was very speedy. I got my Dr to be the guarantor and got my new passport within weeks of sending it off.
As far as the name change, you have to apply for an entire new passport....It sucks but that is the way it is. I am not going to change it as it was so recently done.
-
You are about to make complicated dinner and Hubby says" Lets eat out" Ahhh!
-
It just hit $4 ( which looking on here isn't much) , but don't they always jack up the gas prices around holidays?
I know here in GA they do...
-
Go to the website where they specify for the American passport, its the same.
-
YES!
I have been trying all morning. I thought it was my computer 'cause I updated my virus protection software.
Glad to know its not. There better be some touches and movin' and shakin' after its been down..
Hey guys, online case status server is down...Anyone else having the same problem?
-
GOOD LUCK ALL!
Hopefully we will start having activity. I looked on here today and was like " where is the AOS April" it was 2 pages down. :0

I know here in Georgia, the EAD (Work Athorization) is valid for a drivers license.
I would like to know how people are getting drivers licenses? I took my wife to get one and they wouldn't give it to her based on the fact that her status is not defined. we tried to get it on her K-1 but they took so long to approve it that when they were going to issue it they couldnt because the visa would expire less than 60 days fromt he issue date. So is there something else we can use (marriage cert, ssn #, etc...) thanks.Driver's License issues vary state by state. Some states won't issue them to K1 holders and some will. I got mine in Massachusetts with no problem but it's not the same for everyone.
Its a pain in the State of California. While other states are more lenient, California is the worst to get even a driver's permit. If you don't apply for State ID or Drivers license in CA within the first 3 weeks of arriving, they don't even bother looking at your I-94 since they require at least 2 months before I-94 expires. I was able to get my driver's permit but it expires when I-94 expires and since I've never driven before I can't take the drivers test yet. But even if I could, the license would expire on I-94 expiration date. So now, I won't be able to complete my license until I show my proof of residence to DMV, which is a green card in simple terms. DMV at 3 locations said the same thing, all in Southern California. I still have to find out though from DMV if I have to retake the written test or if I can continue with a permit once I show my green card. Hope this helps anyone.
Thanks for the info. Just one thing I heard that they can take the EAD as proof of residence. Is that correct???

Mine did not get cashed for almost 3 weeks. I would not worry, if they need the medical you will receive a RFE.
-
I dont know, from what I gather on reading around it depends on the work loads of the service centers..
I am so sad, no one wants to "touch" me.
-
Yeah,
I was worried i signed up at the wrong place as far as status checking. I am just being a worry wort i guess,
This is the correct link though right?
-
None of mine have been touched at all... is this a bad thing?
Do any of you think I messed up the system by doing my biometrics early?

You should be able to find one here...
-
Wishing its a transfer to CSC for ya!
I have been one day behind you since we sent so fingers crossed mine will have some movement.
Just check online...and the 3 cases was touched. I don't know why...My guess is that your case will get tranferred to CSC very soon. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
I was hoping this too...but perhaps is some RFE...hopefully not
I will post here every thing that happen...
:)Thanks

Hi,
It looks as if from your timeline you never received your Notice of Actions for each application. I am guessing that is what it may be.
It may be those, as you have already received your Biometrics letter with the appointment date.
Hey there everybody!!!So today I went to this InfoPass thing, I feel so frustrated, the Post Office has returned 2 letters that USCIS has sent me so I had an InfoPass appointment this morning to check if they had my correct mailing address.
The immigration officer was an old lady and she was very nice actually, from what I've heard I thought she would of been like a pain of the ### but she was so polite and helped me so much with my problem.
I wish the best of the luck for everybody who filed in April!!!
April 15th, 2008 - Sent envelope with I-130, I-485 and I-765
May 2nd, 2008 - Got notice for Biometrics Appoinment
May 5th, 2008 - Got an e-mail that says the US Postal Service returned a letter regarding I-765
May 7th, 2008 - Biometrics Appointment
May 14th, 2008 - Got another e-mail that says US Postal Service returned 2 letters regarding I-485 and I-130
May 15th, 2008 - Attended InfoPass appointment
DOES ANYBODY HAVE AN IDEA OF WHAT THOSE RETURNED LETTERS COULD OF BEEN?, I'M SO CURIOUS AND I ALWAYS WONDER WHAT THOSE 3 LETTERS WERE, SO FROM YOUR EXPERIENCE GUYS DID YOU ALSO RECEIVED A LETTER FOR EACH APPLICATION AND ALSO THE BIOMETRICS NOTICE?
THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!!!

CONGRATS!
I'm glad it worked! It feels good to have something go quickly and easily...
I still have not update on the USCIS website, but I am sure it's coming soon.
Thanks to Steph0814, I succeeded walk-in biometrics here in Miami today!Since my appointment is 23rd, I didn't want to wait that long... (my app notice was of May 2nd... 3 weeks!
). I should have tried earlier!
It was very smooth, no one's mean. I didn't mention that my appointment was 1 week ahead, I just passed the notice. No conversation about appointment, security gentle man checked my passport, and passed application to fill in, saying it's the first time for him to see Japanese there
. A handsome young boy took my fingerprints with a few Japanese greeting words
.
According to office locator website, Miami office allows walk-in only for military people from 9AM to 3PM, I assumed it's pretty vacant in the early afternoon because there's no base around there... so I tried 1:30PM. Bingo! No queue.
So... where did the appointment date come from??

Sending all positive thoughts & energy your way ...let us know how it goes.
Ash_Cypress,Do you know how far away the office is? Maybe you could take a taxi or a bus?
Thanks Steph...looking into that option now. Its 35 minutes by drive. No bus connection in our area, will take a taxi. Hope i would get lucky too...but its worth a try....TIME is GOLD!
