Ella, Helipshan, Chris39,
To answer your question about the touches, No I did not receive 1 touch at all for anything.
Ella & Chris, we filed the same day so I am sure they have to be processing yours as well and I am sure you will hear something soon ( I noticed that the processing dates for NBC(MSC) is April 16)
Chris, I am not sure why.
I have some pretty good guesses. With filing the I-130 outside they take care of all the background checks, and relative information and what not so by the time they get here on a visa there is a lot taken care of already and they can easily process the EAD,AP & AOS. Some of these people had to wait 6-8 or more months for this process.
So, just imagine they (IO) have to process quite a bit more and so it takes longer than the others.
Another thing is that once the files get to the office they actually seperate them accordingly; Ead's & AP's get processed there and the AOS's get sent to (1) CSC or (2)local office for an interview. With our's the entire package gets kept at NBC (MSC) for processing. And I can only imagine the Adjucators looking at the huge filing and either not wanting to work on it, or "saving" it for later.
Anyway, I will keep you all in my positive thoughts that good news is coming soon and what my RFE is. I will be watching the mailbox very closely for the next few days.
Cheers

In question #22 you put the city and state you reside in and then send it to the Chicago Lockbox. You will not have to go to Chicago for the Interview they will assign it to your local office when it's time.
Hope that helps
-
At least you know that they're working on your case, do you have any clue what RFE might be about? I haven't got any touches on AOS for a long time. I am concerned that I will also get RFE
I have an idea, my husband owns his own Real Estate Companies and we sent a list of the properties along with an approx appraisal for Equity. I am guessing it has to do with his financials, he has A LOT of equity but no actual paystub
(It's nothing that can't be compiled in a couple of hours though). I am pretty sure that is what it is.

So the good news is that they didn't lose my case file, the so so news is that I got this:
Receipt Number: MSCxxxxxxxxxxx
Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Current Status: Request for Additional Evidence Sent
On July 21, 2008, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the requested information. This case will be in suspense until we receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once we receive the requested evidence or information and make a decision on the case, you will be notified by mail. If you move while this case is pending, call 1-800-375-5283 to update your address
To everyone in my shoes (that filed the I-130 together with I485), they are slowly processing them.

All the best with your Infopass tomorrow.
So i went to the Infopass page to change my Infopass appointment, and it is now telling me "there is no appointment information for your area"
#######? Why would it say that?
Any ideas?
-
Day 90............................NOTHING.
Case status online still says.......'Case Received and Pending'
Still haven't heard any updates whatsoever, is the USCIS still in business?!?!? I now have a job offer which is dependent upon me showing my EAD!
Question.... It seems as though there are different rules for everyone with the USCIS, BUT does everyone receive notices that their EAD has been approved? Or is there cases where the EAD card will just show up without having the 'EAD approved' and 'card ordered' notice? I can't afford to wait any longer
Well, supposedly you are supposed to recieve an email from CRIS however some people don't won't know till it shows in the mail. It really just depends.
If I were you I would make an INFOPASS pronto to put in a service request.
Hope it helps.
-
I have seen people request a infopass. What does a info pass do? Do you get more information then calling USCIS? I hope so, because they tell you nothing. Good luck on your info pass. I hope it brings good news.
Once its gone past the 90 day mark, you can make an Infopass apointment to put in what they call a "Service Request", where they actually send a request to the NBC (Formerly the MSC) to check on the application. From reading other people's timelines and post's it seems that the EAD and/or AP response comes quick after that.
I know this is not being too positive, but I have gone ahead and made an Infopass appointment for the 8th of August and if it comes before that then I will cancel it.
It will come, we just have to patient, the good news is that they have updated the processing times and it is now APRIL 16th and on....
-
Best of luck next week Steph. I think we're all just hoping our applications aren't forgotten and need to make appointments to bring them back to life.
Are you going to make an Infopass appointment? Your 3mo period date since filing comes up on Aug 6th
Yes, most definitly going to put in a service request if i dont receive anything.
My current drivers license is up at the end of August as well as my car registration, so its quite important that I get it before then.
All the best to you Heliosphan, I am right with you!
-
CONGRATS TO ALL WITH GOOD NEWS.
I am trying my best not to get discouraged about the fact that I have still not heard anything at all!
I am buying a car from my Father in law and fortunatly he is allowing to make payments, but my current license will be invalid by the end of August and I need that EAD to get it. If I can't drive around my life is over, I am already feeling a bit suffocated as it is not being able to travel.
Ok I will stop whining, sorry I had to vent a bit.
-
Chris39,
Yes, actually all of us that filed to AOS with an I-130 have not heard a word. Don't worry though, it'll come through it just takes a bit more time.
It may seem longer for you as well becuase of the RFE. Ella, Heliosphan and I are here with ya'
-
Congrats to all that have approvals!!!!
Ella, Heliosphan Anything on your cases?
-
CONGRATULATIONS EVERYONE. THAT IS GREAT NEWS.
-
Yeah, It seems a long time.
But like Ella I have had no word either and filed in April. Once it is pass the 90 day mark (if it gets that far) then I will do a service request at your local USCIS Office.
All the best and I totally understand how you feel.

Oops....I got caught! LOL
Bring on the torches then..
spoiled white girl!! j/kThanks for the link...I wish I could get some free coffee! I hope they will have the discounts at least here.
LOL! - The USA made me spoiled....Hhahhaaa
Yeah well I am not a nice person w/o my coffee and I would NEVER pay for that..ok well I did when they had the $1 coffee.
-
Yes, that makes perfect sense.
It's almost like they never had their own cultural "identity"? So the the slave trade sort of made thier "culture" as that is the one common thing they all had to rally around, even though it was wrong it so many ways.
I do agree with someone else on here though, that they come from so many different parts of the world and Africa, the islands. It's really not right to bunch them all into one sort of sub-culture.
-
Ok, i can't get the link to work..GRrrrr
Good Ol' Copy and paste

Here is the Answer to my last question:
South African court rules Chinese can now be called black
I jest, I jest
-
Aren't there a million documentaries about how bad the Irish had it when they immigrated here, and other groups too? Jewish? So those are "white" documentaries. But a key word in any white documentary about people from another place would probably be immigrant. Not a slave forced over and treated like an animal, which to me makes the black experience a different thing all together. Yes it's in the past and guilt shouldn't be the main topic, but it still makes the experience different.
I may be opening a can of worms here, but what about the Chinese when they 1st immigrated here?
Weren't they used as help and poorly treated as well?
I understand it was well after the African Americans were brought over but?
What I struggle with is that not all African American's were brought over for that purpose, some actually wanted to come yet they use that as an "excuse" for why their life s***ks. I just don't understand. I live S.Atlanta, which is not white and to be honest they treat me like " a spoiled white girl" it irks me because they don't know where I came from and to be honest I grew up with a lot less than most of them.
I don't know, I will watch it with an open mind and try to understand.
-
And as far as a "white" documentary...well, I just don't even get how that would go. Which whites? The Ialians, Poles, Germans, etc, etc? I know the same could be said of blacks...African, Carribean, etc, but there is probably something they share in how other races (not just caucasians) relate to them.
Very true! Very true. There are so many!
-
Probably, I don't watch too much TV! Maybe it's just old news now.
I have struggled with the whole racism thing, I lived in Europe and never thought once of color. I have lived in Asia, Europe and S.America and not ever had 1 inkling of it (I understand that it's there, I just never actually thought about it or thought it was any kind of an issue)
Since I have been here it's all of a sudden so relevant (I have had racist remarks made to me a Caucasian woman from African American women that I literally was just shocked to hear and if i dare make a remark back I would be shot)
I have had numerous discussions with my Husband about it, as to why and all that.
I am getting off topic, but yes I will watch it to understand why it's so prevelant here.
-
Well, all I know is I live in the south and if we were to do even a local documentary about anything white related there would be an outroar in the name of racism.
I personally would like to see something done on the ever decreasing tribes and families of American Indians (Native Americans) who apparently were here in the land and county first.
