  1. Well that is good....

LOL! I didnt trust him to do it, I gave him a list of things to give to me and then check it off. hhaaa

Did you send the 2007 W2 (statement of earnings from employer) and/or 1099s (other records of earnings from banks, etc)? That's all I can think. Good luck.

Thanks for replying. As luck would have it my husband just called from work and he also believes they want the W2. I have no idea why he didn't give me one to send with the initial application, but we'll save that conversation for when he gets home!! The I-864 is the only thing I asked him to do, I did everything else. Typical! :D

  2. Oh so sorry!

They are probably requesting the W2 and 1099.

    We got an RFE.

But I'm not really sure what they're asking for so if anyone can help I'd appreciate it. The RFE is for 'all supporting tax documentation submitted to the IRS for the most recent tax year'. With our application we sent them a copy of the tax return that was filed last month. What else could they want from this year? I don't know anything about US taxes and my husband is at work right now and uncontactable. Any help would be appreciated.

  3. I had some concerns early on about that as well as I had come through once on my drivers license and my canadian passport and both times they had not stamped me and I had to go to the local office here to get a I94 (however I believe they don't do that anymore).

When I went for my infopass to ask about it, I spoke with 2 IO's because I was so concerned about it And both of them said that it's not a big concern and that I shouldnt worry just note the Point of Entry and state that they had not stamped me. But then again I had a passport.

How is it that she does not have a passport if she has been coming in and out of Canada?

I am quite certain you should get some legal counsel.

There are a few things that you would need get counsel on, this forum is AWESOME for general questions. However for the magnitude of this and what it could mean for you and your wife you may want to get legal help.

    ALL THE BEST!!

please see comments in bold below

Can you all look over this and tell me If I am missing anything please. I am filing adjustment of status concurrent with I-130 for my wife, who is a Canadian Citizen.

    I-130

    - Payment in the amount of $355.00

    - I-130 Petition for Alien Relative

    - G-325A and passport style photo (Me)

    - G-325A and passport style photo (Wife)

    - Copy of Birth certificate (ME) wouldn't hurt to include a copy of your passport

    - Copy of Birth Certificate (Wife) ditto... a copy of your wife's passport

    - A Copy of Divorce Decree (Me)

    - Certified Copy of Marriage License between me and wife. I assume you mean the marriage certificate, not license

    - Affidavit from Friend

    - Affidavit from Daughter

    - Voided Check Proof of Bonifide Marriage

    - Copy of Bank Statement joint account, I assume

If you have them, also include joint leases, joint tax returns, joint insurance and such

    I-485

    - Payment in the amount of $1010.00

    - I-485 Adjustment of Status

    - Copy of Birth Certificate (for wife)

    - Copy of Marriage License between Me and spouse

    - A Copy of Divorce Decree (Mine, since I was previously married) not sure if this is needed here, as this is your wife's application, but I could be wrong, confirm with I-485 instructions

    - 2 passport photos for Wife for 325A

    - G-325A (For wife)

    - I-683 Medical Exam in SEALED envelope for For wife also including I-693a vaccination supplement

    - I-864 Affidavit of support from Me

    - Copies of Tax returns for 2007 and 2006 (for I-864) if you're adding 2006 tax return, might as well include 2005, since they ask either for 1 year o3 3 years of returns

    - W2’S for 2006, 2007 tax returns. (for I-864)

    - I-765 Application to accept work

    - 2 Passport photos of wife for I-765 application

need to add copy of wife's passport and evidence of admission into US. Since she's Canadian, I assume she entered on the VWP, but there still should be some kind of evidence in her passport (i.e. stamp) showing that she has been lawfully admitted/inspected upon her last entry.

    Best of luck.

She doesn't have a passport, and neither do I. She entered the states in Decmeber of 2002, and was only asked to show her drivers license. She was not required to show anything else. And no stamp was provided, nor did she recieve any peice of paper.

  4. Hi there.

I filed both at the same time as well and am a canadian citizen.

    Yes that all looks good.

I have a suggestion that you make coversheets for each application, then put them in 2 envelopes inside the main envelope.

If you have any additional questions you can PM me....

This is what I am including for Explanation of elgibility is this ok?

    USCIS

    P.O. Box 805887

    Chicago, IL 60680-4120

    5/3/2008

Nature of the submission: I-131 Explanation of Elgibility

    To Whom It May Concern:

I would like an I-131 in case of a family emergency which would cause me to have to travel back to my home country (Canada). I would also like it to go and visit my family members in Canada.

    Signed by Wife

What do you mean you are filing both the I-130 and Adjustment of Status? That sounds strange

Why would you apply for a refugee/reentry permit?

Probably entered as a tourist and are now adjusting.

Actually she entered as a visitor

  5. I know what you mean, I keep checking my bank account online every 5 minutes to see if its been cashed.

Do the checks have to be cashed in order to receive the NOA?

Reminder to oneself - "BE PATIENT"

I was hoping to hear today that the certified bank check was cashed yet. It hasn't been. :( It has only been a week. Just must breath. BREATH. It will happen. ;)

That was my lil bit of impatient venting. Hehehee. I guess after the long process of I-129 and the like I have become a bit impatient and want things now. LOL

Hi starlarose...we have the same anniversary day! .....i hear you!!!...want mine too but it was just 3 days old since receipt in the Lockbox....sad being alone at home when mah hubby darlin is at work.. :(

  6. I am back!

And have a whole long run down of the wonderful food we had in Hawaii!

The best by far was this shrimp farm on the side of the road, they literally scooped out the shrimp beheaded them and then cooked them there. OMG! It was like 20 large shrimp fried with garlic and some sauce (that they made there) with rice. it had the peel on, but that was the highlight of the food ....

Oh and the last day we went to Chinatown in Honolulu and went into the fish market. There was the best layout of food for next to nothing. I had this whole fish that was almost blackened on Charcoal with a bunch of other Filipino food mixed in. All for $6.50!!! That is it...

Ok so tonight I have having a warm spinach salad with pine nuts and fried tilapia bites on top. With a lemon vinagrette.

  7. Hi!

Yes, I highly suggest it! 2 hole punch each application seperatly though as they will dismantle it (even though they all are sent in one envelope).

I even went as far as to put labeled post it tabs on THE BOTTOM of each different app and all the corresponding documents. I wanted to make it as easy as possible for them to pull it out of a pile.

Oh and I did my tabs a bright yellow so they stick out. I have pictures but just returned from Vacation so need to photoshop then post.

    ALL THE BEST!

I want to make my folder as easy as possible for them t work on (adjustment of Status. And i think that it's probably easiest for them if they can see all the pages without first taking them out of the pouches (one pouch for each form and evidence), and if they could write on it! So, do you think it would be okay if i punched holes into all the stuff so that they could reach it all easier?
  8. No Clue! We have what with all in the kitchen, hubby is playing basket ball till at least 7 and I am lazy again. I swear its the heat.

Maybe I'll make him bring back Willy's...

BUT I will have a glass of wine to celebrate I got my AOS package out today. Weeeee

  9. I am salivating. LOVE me some indian.. Food that is.

However, we are having spanish rice w/ black beens and corn. and that's it. I'm too lazy for anything right now, its hot and hubby has not turned on the A/C yet. I would turn it on but I am not paying for it so better leave it to him then eh? :innocent:

  10. LOL! Too funny. I am glad you are ok though, lysol is some strong stuff.

I have 3 cleaners for different parts of the house.

Kitchen: Fabuloso (Love that stuff from when I lived in Mexico)

Bathrooms: Not sure what its called but its made by Lysol however its "green" so its A LOT lighter.

    Everywhere else pledge

I am oldest of 8 kids and have had to clean for YEARS and am quite OCD about it. Hubby takes a spray bottle of Windex and cleans the whole house with it. I have lavender scented Windex and the bottle was 1/2 gone when I came home Saturday. LOL! Sweet man! At least he cleaned and I am not complaining. He just owes me a bottle of lavender windex. HAhhahaa
